Just a few years ago, such a great pot would take a ton of care and patience, or a device like an Aeropress (which is a different method, but produces pretty similar coffee that is extracted just to the right amount, with a lot less acid).Until the OXO, I really was quite a snob about the Bonavita.

None of the previous machines did this - although all were ten or fifty times better than open pots, there was always a bit of oxidation bitterness, even if the lid was kept on the thermal caraffe.
