This stainless steel steamer is one instance where I prefer the steel over the silicone models

If you have stainless steel pots, you may like it better.

This is my second try with this product because usually OXO makes great products but the handle has broken off both times within a month or 2.

The legs are long enough to keep the food out of the water, it's a generous size, and the pop-up handle is a great idea.

The center piece gets stuck kind of and the feet seem a little loose, meanwhile, the real one everything feels firmly attached and moves smoothly

My main complaint is that I don't have a dishwasher and this thing is practically impossible to clean by hand.

Is that a bad thing

Works great only thing would be after 2 uses started to nothice small rusted areas.

Sucks to clean this thing by hand, other than that it's great.

Had I caught Karen in time I would have volunteered to replace the ill-fated handle with a stainless steel eyelet, nuts, and washers from the hardware store and saved us the expense of the cheap steamer basket.

This is a good steamer basket that fits well in most pots and has nice features.

Tonight, unfortunately, the threads connecting the handle to the base corroded away and the whole steaming hot basket of chopped broccoli dumped on the stove and counter

There are little adjustable legs at the bottom of the steamer which keeps it out above the water.

The legs are sturdy and stand tall, allowing you to add more water and steam longer

And the legs on the bottom elevate it enough so that you can add sufficient water for things that need longer cooking, like carrots.

On the second use, the pop up handle failed to stay in the locked down position

The 'pop' up handle broke after 4 weeks and it will not stay down in the low position.

I like that the handle extends when you want to remove it from a pot.
