For years I have been a very big fan of OXO as I had found them to be consistently of high quality and excellent design.

It works perfectly, it does exactly what it's designed to do, does not leak, is very well engineered, and very simple to use

Low profile is great design and allows bottles to fit in ref a lot easier.

My conclusion: its a nice low profile stopper but the stopper does not make the bottle air-tight or wine-tight.

These are compact and low-profile so it doesn't make the bottle top-heave if stored upright.

Lost half bottle wine all over frig

I was looking for something that would keep the carbonation in sparkling wine

These not only do just that, but they seal super tight, they don’t leak if the bottle is laying down, and the best part is the wine keeps fresh for much longer

So while it isn't completely leakproof, wine wasn't gushing out either.

Back to the drawing board to search for a better wine stopper.

I wish the inner stopper was a tad more wide as I feel like this would make the product just a bit more secure

You can't go wrong with OXO, love their products, and keep getting more and more

If you do the bottom of stopper will not touch the sides of the bottle and the there will be a very slow leak from the stopper when the bottle is on its side.

I noticed the stopper seemed more loose and the bottle leaked a few drops the 2nd time I used it.

After which, the seal was so weak that it was weaker than the shaft mechanism

Because this was OXO and because OXO specifically wrote that these stoppers would remain sealed even with the wine bottle lying on its side, I was enthusiastic in my purchase.

If you want ease of use and a leak proof seal look for another choice.
