Peavey has done a great job delivering an Amp that will do anything you could want for a very reasonable price.

The Vyper VIP 2 delivers BOTH Electric and Bass amplification that sound very good - for a great price

This is a better practice amp than the 20 watt vip 1 simply because, with the turn of a knob, you can have a 1 watt amp.

This amp is everything I need for a high quality, versatile practice amp.

The VIP 2 has energized my desire to learn basic bass (learning 12-bar blues to start), and I really like the various sounds I get from my other 2 electric guitars with the different amp emulation settings.

but if your just tracking out the guitar its absolute studio quality sound, (as long as you know what your doing) but after you get familiar with the reaper software, its endless what you can do with this amp, and the free vip editor also opens new doors in just how much you can edit the sounds, Peaveys amps are always on point, this one is no exception

I would recommend the Vyper Vip 1 to folks who want a nice sounding amp for different styles of playing without plunking down over half a grand on a tube amp

The VIP 1 exceeded my expectations in terms of ease of use, performance and versatility.

After owning this amp for awhile I think I prefer tube amps to solid state amps.

The only way to go is true non modeling solid state analog( or GOOD tube amps is you can afford them )

For my electric guitar playing I've been thru several amps - from tube to solid state - and many effects pedals

I would say stay with solid state or look into tube amps you can afford

I will go with true solid state non modeling with pedals from here on out

I'll review again when I can provide information about how well the pedals do when placed at the front end of the amp

A second reason to add your favorite pedal(s) is that the amp's design limits you to one row each of stompbox/instrument model, amp model, and modulation effect (plus global delay and reverb)

Sometime I want to get the pedal for this amp to preset effects I like

I feel like I'm getting some great sounds out of the amp, but largely because I have some great pedals to compliment it

Recomend purchasing sanperra 1 pedal makes the amp even more fun to play with.

The "Synth" model sounds nothing like a guitar synth, but everything like a vintage analog keyboard synthesizer, with adjustable portamento and attack

The remainder played on the severely hobbled "British" model--Peavey really made a mistake with this one, deactivating the tone controls in a crazy effort to model Brian May's amp

If what you want is a modeling amp with several great sounding models and effects built into it then you're in luck

I would not recommend this amplifier for an electric bass.

This is not an amazing amplifier 'for the price', its an amazing amplifier, period.

Only the clean amplifier seemed to work right, all the rest kept cutting out or phasing out and sounded pretty horrible

Anyway, as long as you realize that 75% of the amp models and effects are useless, what remains is a robust amplifier

It wasn't cheap and was suppose to be really good quality and sound

Could be a build quality issue or an engineering issue (with the design tilted towards the guitar side of the house).

Horrible company puts out horrible quality

A good friend of mine uses one of these, and used to send audio files (Of course the sound quality wasn't the best, but it sounded amazing from what I could tell.)

A very good amp, great sound good quality worth a lot more than it's price!

The modeling of different amps is an impressive feature that helped me choose my next amp, LOL

They're the first line of protection for the amp, but the least protective feature of it.

....all these features are very cool but my LIL ROLAND CUBE sounds better in the tones and

There are so many features on this amp its crazy

can play bass guitar,acoustic guitar,as well as electric guitar

The acoustic setting really made my cheap electric guitar SOUND like it was an actual acoustic

I have modified my guitars myself (fret adjustments and stuff), played bass and look into my friends gear

For $129 to have guitar, bass and acoustic is unmatched

This amp is made for, and sounds good with, either an electric guitar, an acoustic guitar, or a bass.

So when im in a metal mood i use a BOSS metal zone pedal on a clean BUTCHER seting and no unwated noise even at loud volumes

The volume on this amp is ridiculous, I keep mine on 1 or less in the house its that loud!!!

1/2 of 1 volume out of 10 is already loud enough, so there is no loudness problem here.

Also, turn the volume all the way down before turning it on, or the feedback will shake your fillings out.

So again the speaker flutter and vibration due to the terrible design and cheap materials in manufacturing kill this all in one set up from any pro sounding gigs

When I received the item and tried it out there was a constant buzzing ,I thought there was something loose in the cabinet or the speaker was blown, so I returned it and ordered a replacement, when that arrived I opened the box and when I lifted the amp out of the box and the speaker grill and speaker fell off the front of the amp and there were screws laying in the bottom of the plastic bag that covered the amp

The speaker rattles so bad.. and the sound cuts in and out
