This shortfall becomes problematic as soon as, like me, you come across a situation in which there is no Hue bulb available that fits a socket

The bulbs are a bit too dim and there is no way to change their default on settings when coming back on from power loss

These are rather expensive bulbs to only last 1 month.

Also, the LED bulbs last years, so the price difference becomes negligible if you realize that you are going to use this for years or even decades (hopefully).

The bulbs are very capable and have good flexibility, the weakness is in the software.

Not sure I would bother with the white ones as I could just use smart switches and standard bulbs

These are very expensive bulbs to replace; why should the burden be on the customer who paid a substantial amount for them to have to jump through hoops to receive a replacement for a defective product as determined by the manufacturer?

The bulbs themselves are shaped a bit different than traditional bulbs, having a mostly covered base with a small frosted window at the top (opposed to a fully frosted design like a typical light bulb)

They required that I find a box of my own, package up the defective bulb and return it to them using their prepaid Fed Ex account and then wait 7-10 days while they test the defective bulb and send a replacement bulb.
