I mean, the idea that this was going to wake me up with light was a great idea, in concept, but why on earth would I want to sleep with such light right in my
(That's how bright it is.)I'm giving it a 4 because the product functions perfectly, the idea is good, it's still more preferable to wake up to than anything else, and I was more "awake" when I finally became conscious to the bird sounds
I love the idea of this alarm clock, with the light slowly fading in each morning and the pretty sounds for a peaceful morning
Great idea but poor electronic workings and too light for practicality.
First, I really like the idea, and it is a great set up
The alarm clock is easy to use, has 3 different alarms including FM radio, and adjustable display light, lighting and sound.
I actually love the feel of this clock, the smooth touch display, the fact that the buttons light up when you bring your hand close to it
Due to this, having the light bright enough to wake me up means that the display is so bright I have a hard time falling asleep
Maybe if you aren't super light sensitive, the display wouldn't bother you
The only negatives are that the display is reasonably bright even on the lowest setting and that once the plug comes out of the wall, you have to reset the time (the alarm keeps its time, though).
A much better way to wake up than the traditional alarm clock
This is a pretty good alarm clock and definitely a gentle way to wake up
The plastic on the front feels very cheap and flimsy and the way the clock radio sits on your table or nightstand seems to indicate it would tip over pretty easy
Gentle way to wake up each morningThe cons are as follows
(it sounds like birds chirping, which I find pleasant), so it's a much less abrupt way to wake up than my cell phone alarm
And when an alarm is going off, whether it's sweet twittering birds, bright light, or a Rachmaninoff piano concerto, if I can't turn it off quickly and wake myself up without further assistance, and not have to grope around on the floor for the clock, I might just beat it to death with the night table lamp
I love the light and the chirping birds, I find that I wake up much better with the light than my old alarm.
and we're surrounded by all sorts of wild birds
The only thing I would like to change is to have a few more sound options but the birds are very pleasant.
I actually LOVE birds and own six pet birds, so I wondered if I'd just sleep right through them
Unfortunately, what I received is a clock that even on it's dimmest setting has BRIGHT RED NUMBERS THAT COULD
However... in the morning, when the 30 minute sunrise has just ended, and you're trying to turn off the alarm but the lamp is on its brightest setting, you're kind of staring into the sun to try and find the alarm off button
The clock display does go down in brightness and its lowest setting isn't bright enough to wake me up, but I still wish I could turn it off completely
Digital clock display is too bright even on the dimmest setting: I do have mine on the dimmest setting, and while it's a bit darker than most other alarm clocks, I agree that it would be nice if there were an even dimmer setting available
Even at the brightest setting, the light is simply too small to be effective
These sounds are soothing, which is a breath of fresh air
Not user friendly, ostensibly should be very simple but many features just don't work well , for instance need to adjust every time the light level for the light alarm , impossible to set for light alarm only without sound (must have sound set as well), not clear how to stop the light in the morning etc etc
The alarm sounded at the right time and began with soft nature sounds that gradually got louder until I woke up
they sound fake and repetitive, so I keep the alarm sound on the lowest setting so that I can't hear it and just use my phone alarm instead
Finally killed the light and the sound, but not before awakening my wife
Battery backups are pretty standard even in cheaper alarm clocks, and have been for at least 15-20 years
Like many people, I have two different wake time schedules each week, and it is quite cumbersome to change the alarm to the other time and not at all intuitive
So this works well for me as a closk but does not work for me as an alarm.
This alarm is great because by the time when you need to wake up, you feel like you really can do this
I wish there were more options for such an expensive alarm clock.
frustrating-You'll be setting the time a lot,-There's no battery backup, and it loses all your settings often
This lacks the two basic requirements for being a useful alarm:it does not have a battery backup and it cannot be programmed for only certain days of the week
The clock slowly and gently brightens as it approaches your wakeup time
The clock slowly and gently brightens as it approaches your wakeup time
The only aspects that could use improvement are that: I have keep my phone alarm on still because this one does not have a battery backup in case the electricity flickers off during the night
The touch controls work well enough, but when you're half-asleep they can be a bit tricky
Digital clock display is too bright even on the dimmest setting: I do have mine on the dimmest setting, and while it's a bit darker than most other alarm clocks, I agree that it would be nice if there were an even dimmer setting available
Buttons are a bit small and hard to hit in a squinty-eyed, half asleep state, but overall I'm happy with the product.
The thing is if you turn face to face with it the light is in your face and it gets a bit intense
It's great for a night time reading light, and the light is really subtle, the alarm takes a bit to get used to

disappointed ...does not help me and radio has lousy tone
You can't really see it when the bedroom light is on, but at night it does get a little brighter than it seems

I start waking up later and later in the darker winter month.
The light feature is perfect, especially for those dreary winter mornings when it is more difficult to "rise and shine
The light helped me gradually wake during the dark winter morning.
It helps me wake up, especially during those dark winter or rainy mornings
I am not a morning person, so this is great!I live in Alaska, so during the winter, it is dark until 10 or 10:30 am so this will be awesome this winter!
