Everyone who rides with me is wowed with how great this works.
Just did the newly released firmware update 1.09 and unit works perfect
Blue tooth works great and clear no static and quick connection to phone.
I use a Panasonic headset with it for better sound inside a noisy work truck
I don't like having to plug my phone into it every time I want to use it, but fortunately the bluetooth audio works great and displays the song and other info on the screen
PROs: Excellent sound compared to the stock radio, Pandora and Bluetooth audio integration and control, can easily match the illumination to your existing stock vehicle lighting for a seamless upgraded look, great high-resolution screen, hands free phone works great
no sound with HDMI slim port, aux input has no sound, and mirrorcast not working, only things that is Bluetooth audio and HDMI video without
Odd crackling sound when no music was playing
Great sound, Bluetooth for the phone is good quality, etc
I like the look, love the sound and enjoy the functionality of the
If It worked as without restarting and the volume issue I would easily recommend this unit to others.
There is still some room for improvement in terms of software stability, but it works reasonably well (as to be expected with tech these days) and it sounds great too
I have tried screen protectors and the result is as bad as without
This was frustrating when it would crash as you would have to turn your car on and off to restart it when it would crash
many apps lock you out unless you press release and depress parking break.
My only gripes include: expensive list of extras needed to integrate with iPhone and remainder of OEM Bose car audio system; no auto-dimming feature or ability to integrate with dash lighting controls; screen is low resolution (think iPad minus 60 percent); screen is completely illegible in direct sunlight (which is rare) even with an anti-glare screen protector; Siri hands-free still a work-in-progress, although this might be an iOS issue for improvement.
I love it, it's working as I

Easy to install but interface is a bit wonky and hard to get used to.
If you like listening to audio from a video app, its a bit more cumbersome to use
Installation went well, although the schizophrenia between the standard Pioneer interface and CarPlay is a bit odd to navigate when you need to change a setting
If you really want a CarPlay radio, this one is decent, but may frustrate you a bit.
I would have preferred either dedicated hard buttons or at least more touch screen area dedicated to the volume control
Sometimes it starts it from the beginning again, and the only way to get back to where you were is to use that terrible +15sec button.- Spotify, Apple Music, or the Podcasts app will occasionally freeze and not show music or playlists, and it won’t play anything
I think that it still can be a distraction to use since there are no hard buttons to feel for
Regularly my wife will just try to change radio presets and accidentally hit the wrong button - once even hitting the "auto-set presets" button removing all of the ones we had setup instantly
