In hind site, I made a mistake going with this high end portable device and should have gone with the lower cost Audiovox, without the bells and whistles.

That's 0-4 on expensive devices that I don't feel I should have to replace annually.

Beware this device!It has a well established software issue that will completely disable the unit

Device would freeze ,after a using it for a 2 week sent back for refund.

When used as a portable device, the reception is also very good.

A minor beef is that it is tougher to change channels on the XPM3 while driving, but learning to use the improved remote solves that nicelyI highly recommend this satellite radio/MP3 player for fans of both, it is truly a fine device

Removing the battery lets the player work, and, of course, if you want to use the system as a portable device, you will want to get a new battery.

As my other portable devices have become more reliable and with a longer usable life, satellite radio continues to go the other direction

This is a neat device with lots of functionality for us XM fans...but quirky firmware and nightmare reports on the web make you wonder when (not if) it will die on you.
