The unit becomes pretty much unresponsive to the remote control when I am driving in my car with the top down during the day
-
The new unit works OK, accept now my original battery will not hold a charge and I have to by a new one.
-
Hopefully these are just bad units which can happen in complex pieces of electronics.
-
I'm rating this 3 stars, just because, in reality, if I ever get one that lasts, it is a great portable unit with recording capabilities.
-
** I replaced the bad unit with a new one as my Motorcycle was wired and setup for this model
-
As such I would strongly recommend a portable XM unit to anyone who travels frequently and likes hearing the latest music w/o buying individual songs
-
After doing some research, I found that I was a victim of having one of the crappy units that gets stuck in this "powering up" mode, and never goes any further
-
My unit died 11 months after I purchased it.
-
After some weirdness that started about 3 or 4 days ago (freezing, shutting down, hanging etc - mostly while listening to MP3's on my SDHC class 4 8GB card), my unit began to hang regularly every few songs.
-
This is a good unit, but I have several issues with it
-
I can promise you a full featured unit that is cheap in build and ready for the junk drawer
-
I even bought another like new Pioneer XMP3 off ebay in case my original unit ever quits working
-
My unit worked great... right up until it quit working and gave me the permeant 'Powering up' screen, until the battery dies
-
(maybe i got a bad unit?)
-
The unit I purchased on 12/15/08 died a few days ago
-
The unit generally works for me
-
When playing MP3's, sometimes, not every day for sure, the unit freezes.
-
The unit works quite well in my car with a cassette player adapter playing the XM broadcast from the headphone jack.
-
Thus, I got a new unit from Best Buy at no extra cost, and it works very well in both the car docking and the home docking.
-
1st unit failed after 2 months, second unit failed after 5 months
-
I only used the radio once as a portable unit
-
The only down side (when you are using it outside as a portable unit)is if the signal is weak in your area you may have to use the recorded content
-
So, I basically purchased an expensive home unit at that point
-
The MyFi unit was almost useless without an external antenna - except in my office where there is a strong terrestrial signal.
-
This unit is easy to use, and I also like the ability to store my own MP3's
-
This unit is great (as long as it is working).
-
My unit appeared to flake out and the screen would periodically flash a blank screen for a millisecond.
-
I bought this unit in October and loved it, went everywhere with me then a few weeks ago (hooked to the stereo) it just quit... when I went over to check it
-
Beware this device! It has a well established software issue that will completely disable the unit
-
was gracious enough to exchange my defective unit 6 months into the 1 year warranty because Pioneer support is extremely poor and unreasonable
-
I'm now using my 2nd defective unit
-
The first unit that XM sent me worked for 1 week, then the MP3 function stopped working
-
Overall, a good unit, my favorite of all the xm receivers that I've had, but it could be better
-
That is why we have rated the Pioneer brand awesome because the Pioneer brand is a great unit
-
Overall, nice unit.
-
This unit is a huge improvement in almost every way.
-
As mentioned in my heading, this is my fifth home/ portable satellite unit, replacing an Inno I have had for nearly 3 years.
-
These units can die and transform into expensive paperweights without any warning.
-
It's a great unit.. but reliability is TERRIBLE.
-
Unfortunately, the heat destroyed the unit
-
unit is reasonably good, except for battery life, my xmp3 is 10 months old and I'm on my 3rd battery, each one after 3 months will only give me 30 minutes of service, at 29.99plus shipping it a joke.....
-
There needs to be some kind of protective shell that protects the unit AND lets you use the player in the cradle
-
11/15/2009 - I've seen a lot of people talk about faulty units.
-
I don't like the fact that the unit is so expensive
-
I have four XM radios in use and decided to replace a MyFi portable unit with the XMP3 when the charging port became a little finicky.
