I bought the red ones on January so they should be new and for sure I will buy next generations because they are so comfortable the music quality is awesome they are small they have wonderful battery life and charge on only minutes I highly recommend them

One of my favorite features is that as soon as you turn them on it tells you how much charge time you have left in hours.
In any event, I still liked the Plantronics well above the Powerbeats -- better features and controls; sound is equal; fit is equal or better; price/value is much, much better.
I haven't stressed the "waterproof" features, but believe it would work fine
