Worked the first time with rock band 3; the keyboard must be turned on for the adapter to detect it, however one of the reasons for getting this over the mad catz keyboard is that the keyboard's internal speakers work normally so you can hear the notes from any of the built in timbres(voices) coming from the keyboard as well as the game, or mute the keyboard.

I'll be using the KDG switch soon as I get a keyboard as well

I thought I was a fair keyboard player, but this is hard to get used to to see what keys you need to play and it goes by fast

Overall, a good product that works as it should, but could really use a few upgrades to live up to its potential
