Sony found the right price to offer VR that is plenty good enough for great games and a lot of fun (more fun than I hoped), while finally offering a headset at a price that is affordable for a whole lot more people than the PC and headset required for higher end VR
I'd say it's a decent price for the headset, but not everyone is gonna be comfortable spending a lot of money for the headset
Finally this month Amazon had it in stock at a reasonable price.

Nice product that gives you the VR experience at a very affordable price
The core kit only comes with the demo disc which actually works out pretty well as it gives you a good idea of which games are more to your liking.
I bought Drive Club VR right away because I enjoyed the demo so much
The core kit only comes with the demo disc which actually works out pretty well as it gives you a good idea of which games are more to your liking.
This will lose Sony support like the vita-The psvr has already outsold the ps vita; and unlike the vita which has pretty much the whole mobile gaming market ( the ds, and pretty much every cell phone out there) to compete with, the psvr really only has 2 competitors.
The demo disc has a lot of great demos, I haven't even played a third of them
Sony nailed the technical issue of having smooth motion when turning the head, even if only very slightly.
I hope Sony starts supporting the PSVR by offering free games on PSPLUS, that would be very welcome!
I'm hoping Sony will make the eye distance calibration more user friendly by saving previous user settings.
For what it is, the PS-VR is awesome and I think that Sony will make a killing off of this headset
Sony will work out the kinks over the next year or so they will make it wireless and they will improve the optics and so many other issues with this product... don't end up a beta tester for them after paying $400 for this system
The Vive is like a Mercedes S class compared to a geo metro aka "PSVR"
With the PSVR on you lose sense of time, get literally transported to a different place, and truly enter a new world
i don't know if that is a PSVR only problem or if that is also and issue with the HTC Vive and
This to me is the key reason the psvr is so comfortable.
Now comes the reality, PS4 is great at 1080P but obviously chokes on 4K, so to get this PSVR-QHD that I want, requires a another console revision like PS4 Pro, so PSVR in reality is limited in potential to the PS4 itself
The best thing about this VR headset is how comfortable it is
Very happy I purchased it, both for the the games I can play on PS4 but also for the incredible work people have been doing to hack this thing to work on PC as well
Set-upSetting this thing up wasn't as bad as people made it out to be
The bad things about this are: you have to stand up all the time to play
Most people say the best thing is to start slow until you get your "VR Legs
The graphics aren't fantastic and the games are limited
I'm disappointed that there aren't more PSVR games than there are (especially with good graphics to really submerge yourself in the action) but this purchase is well worth the money!!
Fast forward to recent incarnations such as the (much more expensive
I have played almost all of the demo games and the graphics are amazing on most of them.
The graphics of psvr are pretty good but in no way will it look anywhere near as good as ps4 games look on your hd/4k tv
The Vive just takes it to another level (but with the worse headset)
The headset is very comfortable and it works well even if you need glasses
The headset is very comfortable and is not heavy at all
The headset is very comfortable, and the immersive sensation is impressive
With my other VR sets, after a while the headset will lose tracking, particularly GearVR and after playing for an hour the screen was still centered for me.
I am a big fan of the idea, but implementing isn't as great as I'd like
so I can't review those, honestly I'm not too interested in those yet, but I am sure the other reports on tracking issues are accurate
The reason that I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is only because of the tracking issues with the move controller
Truly amazing as I've been playing games since the Atari age
You will need a playstation camera to use psvr so make sure you pick that up if your looking at the base model you should also get two playstation move controllers as they enhance and in some cases are necessary for gameplay
The wires to run the headset are really cumbersome and restricting, the camera needs me to be sit certain length away from it, and at that length the cord is almost all used up
The unit is comfortable but the wire is a pain, I clipped it to my pants to keep from pulling on my head.
as well this will work as a monitor for any HDMI output devices like PC, Xbox One, etc (the wiring is intense but easy if you can set up PSVR itself). If you can afford this and are patient enough for the good games to come, this is a must buy for gamers and those who want a new experience.
but for me, I found the main wiring harness quite long enough to sit about 6 feet from the PS4.
I found wires were suprisingly not uncomfortable, I find it
The field of view isn't quite as good as Oculus or the Vive, but I never noticed it until the headset was black, waiting to load.
Or the Oculus Rift that is meant to be played in an identical manner as the PS VR.
If you are going to spend that much then you can afford the the HTC Vive or Oculus Rift and a new graphics card and even have some money left over
I really hope that Sony releases some newer motion controllers similar to the oculus rift controllers
I would position it superior to oculus rift (unless you buy touch controllers) and below htc vive (since it does not have room scale and motion tracking isn't as precise)
I'm very happy this product exists, as it's the first step to bringing VR content to consoles for people who don't want to shell out $1000+ for a decent PC that will run an HTC Vive or Oculus Rift with with good graphics, especially for us mac users
Lets say you are in the market for a Virtual Reality HMD, and you don't have $800 let alone a computer good enough to run the HTC Vive or the Oculus Rift
If you are going to spend that much then you can afford the the HTC Vive or Oculus Rift and a new graphics card and even have some money left over
games.1.For example, to run the HTC vive and oculus rift, you'll need to purchase a gaming computer of at least $1,000 dollar value to run these $800 dollar headsets
The PSVR would only be worth buying if you could get it for significantly less than the HTC Vive or the Oculus Rift
VR headset received wasn't working (loose connection) which was very disappointing, but now I can't even get an replacement since it's temporarily out of stock
The cable on that head set is loose and loses connection sometimes
