3.0 pci adapter a year ago to take advantage of a usb 3.0 external hard drive I bought
-
Probably due to my 5400 rpm hard drive
-
40mb/s on the local network with 3.5" hard drives
-
I was copying to a usb 3.0 SATA hard-drive on the same laptop.
-
Of course at USB 2.0 it transfers at 160 mbps, but once I switch it to the 3.0 USB port it goes up to 400+ mbps under normal operating circumstances, this means single hard drive in both network PCs and all apps running.
-
The performance is better than I expected and shows no issue feeding a Hyper-V switch that has 4 computers running 24x7
-
Once that was figured out, it was very quick to install and has given me back Ethernet on a Mac with a broken E-port
