    Plugable USB 3.0 to Ethernet Gigabit 10/100/1000 LAN Network Adapter (ASIX AX88179 chipset Compatible With Windows 10, 8.1, 8, 7, XP, Linux, OS X/macOS, Switch Game Console, Chrome OS)

    • Since the wifi at work is unreliable, I bought this connector to connect my laptop to the ethernet cable.
    • Windows 10 laptop, with marginal WiFi coverage, but a nice gigabit hard wire jack next to it
    • Plug and play for a Acer C720... great for use at a hotel with poor wifi but wired ethernet.
    • Also very handy with my Windows tablet that only as WiFi.
    • I share a service with other roommates in a small community and the wifi is weak through the metal walls of my room, so I decided to hard wire everything.

    • A part of the motivation for buying this was the flaky WiFi driver on Linux with absurd amount of packet loss; the other, and probably the main purpose, was to be able to set up a bridged network with the tun/tap interface, which is only possible with Ethernet
    • Wifi is too unreliable to be the only form of access to the net, and this little device solves that problem nicely.
