This is a great hot water heater, it’s the perfect size, well made solid not cheap

Me and my husband have used it for about a week, from the beginning the water in the kettle after boiling smelled like metal, initially I cleaned it and made 3-4 trial boils just to get rid of any production dust etc

The water smells like burning plastic after boiling

BUT there is a persistent chemical taste to the water, like overheated plastic or resin

Also the kettle smelled like cheap plastic in its first couple of use.

I am not particularly sensitive to this kind of thing, but water from this kettle tastes strongly of plastic

The only issue I have with this Pohl Schmitt is the metallic taste

no spills easy to clean as it has a wide mouth

The tea and coffee ALWAYS have a really weird taste in the water

Boiled super quick, like 4 minutes

Heats quickly - using cold water from filter pitcher in fridge, a liter took only 5 minutes from startup to boiling

My water only take 5 minutes to boil and stays hot for hours.

Over the stove it takes 2-3 minutes to boil but the Pohl Schmitt boils water in under a minute

We loved this....until it broke within 4 months after purchasing it

I've been using this about 4 months and the bottom section started falling apart

The product lasted about 5 months before it fell apart.

A few months after purchase, it started leaking at the seam at the top where the metaljoins with the glass

Less than 2 months the toggle switch has issues won't stay in the on position unless held down
