    • I love this game so much, but unfortunately my battery in the cartridge was dead when I got it, so I can't save

    • Battery was dead not allowing me to
    • However, if you are newcomer to the Pokemon gaming series, or someone who just dosen't want to have to repair a game they just bought I would recommend buying a different Pokemon game instead of a taking a bet that Gold, Silver, or Crystal will work to find out that the battery is dead (Which is what happened to me when I purchased this game)
    • Everything was great except for when I took the game out of the envelope I heard a clunk and knew right away that the new battery they put in it came loose and to make sure I tried to save it and the game did NOT save at all

    • 4 stars for dead battery, games doesn't save
    • As many of you may already know, Second Generation Pokemon games (Gold, Silver, Crystal) use internal batteries to allow players to save data
    • no box but the game's save battery still worked and plays well.
    • Seller insured that internal battery was still good and may reviews stated no such problem, but of course I got the one with a dead battery
    • The battery in the cartridge dies and the only way to fix it is to open the cartridge, put in a new battery (has to be same type) and solder it (or at least that's what I've been reading on online searches)
    • The internal battery was dead
    • This dead battery will cause your save data to be deleted after you turn game off

    • This was crap; I bought this wanting to relive my childhood a bit and when I put it in, the internal battery was dead!
    • but it wont save any progress due to the internal battery being dead which is highly disappointing.
