After smoking a 4KW pure sine inverter trying to start a 12,000 BTU air conditioner, I got this.

You will need a pure sine wave instead of a modified sine wave.

I don't think quasi sine wave an issue on anything.

So, going with a 24v inverter (pure sine wave this time)

Using it for nighttime (so I don't have to listen to the generator).Will probably upgrade to pure sine in the future, as this makes the ceiling and portable fans pretty noisy
