A ferrite bead on the positive power cable doesn't really help much, but seems very slightly better.

Out of the box, there seems to be enough power on AM, USB, and LSB

The mic is quite nice as well i really enjoy the channel up and down on the mic

You also get roger beep, dead key wattage adjust, built in SWR checker, weather channels with severe weather alert (great for tornadoes), memory channels, voice activated microphone (you can talk hands free and it automatically transmits), dual channel watch, scan, auto squelch control....and I could go on, but this is definitely a CB that is head and shoulders above the typical Cobra/Galaxy/General Lee/RCI/Ranger/Connex/Stryker line.

Setup is extremely easy with this function
