Ooops!So, overall, an excellent cooking surface that allowed me to easily cook 5 large blueberry pancakes.

Does make a slight pattern on the pancakes, not a smooth surface

The surface seems more durable than the flat surface one and this new griddle does not scorch from the heat

It is not the smooth surface like the old Rival grills (e.g. very difficult to contain omelets mix).

I checked the surface with a non-contact thermometer and it appears the surface is about 15-20 degrees hotter than what the dial says it’s set at

Love the size, cooking area is a good size and I like how the grease is captured, you don't lose cooking surface and the hole to push the grease in is large compared to others I have seen.

The textured surface seems odd at first, but other than a unique design on the pancakes, seems to work very well as a non-stick surface

However, the non-stick surface was "improved" by going from a smooth surface to one that has a texture like little hashmarks.

It is still very much a non-stick surface that works flawlessly for that, it just makes pancakes/etc look a little weird not having a smooth surface on them

But the Presto Slimline griddle with a smooth surface is al least as easy to clean.

Often, when the griddle got hot, it would expand and one side would pop out of the holder creating an uneven surface.
