Some of the leads have hard 'streaks' in them that leave dents in the paper and unwanted white or lighter lines and texture
These pencils are perfect for what I needed them for, small areas and fine lines, love them.
These are my favorite pencils for fine lines and outlining.
Hard enough to make fine lines for outlining and yet lays down enough color to be gorgeous!
While the Premier pencils are softer and can build up a more opaque finish, Verathin pencils have the ability to be sharpened to a fine point (for a hard line), and result in a slightly sheer effect, allowing the paper to show thru a bit
These verithin pencils are a delight and will offer a great set of colors to get details in tiny spaces!
I had an entire box of 48 sent back for the same issue with way more broken, they sent me a new set to replace
These are harder and more study, (but you are less able to blend because of that).I had an issue with leads breaking on another Prisma set I bought from Amazon, but these have been working fine
I bought a cheap Crayola set from Walmart that were 100 times better than these things
This set was defective and I am not happy this product.
Love the Prismacolor Premier (soft lead) pencils, and these add wonderfully to them being a hard core pencil for small detail.
They are good companions for the soft core pencils for doing fine work
they work great with outlining work I've done with the prismacolor soft core pencils
I have a large set of Prismacolor Premier pencils, which are a soft core pencil, and the colors in this set match, but this is a fine point, hard core set, so they work really well in small areas.
These are hard core pencils that are great for out lining or smoothing out your edges
these are very good, I like them to color in tiny spaces as well as for outlining.
If you want lower quality pencils, crayola is cheaper, and these are a waste of money
It does not hold together well (as in maybe poor adhesive?), the cores were broken when delivered and as a result I've had to sharpen quite a few of these over half way down the length of the pencil just to get a point that doesn't simply fall the hell out
Its frustrating because honestly I think for the price, crayola will be a better bet for pencils
I would not recommend these for children as you could very easily lose a lot of money compared to crayolas, but if you're a seasoned artist with a semi-decent grip then go for it
coloring."The colors in the 36 count set include:Lemon Yellow / Canary Yellow / Spanish Orange / Goldenrod / Orange / Pale Vermillion / Pumpkin Orange / Poppy Red / Crimson Red / Process Red / Light Peach / Dahlia Purple / White / Warm Grey 20% / Aquamarine / Grass Green / Apple Green / Peacock Green / Olive Green / Ultramarine Blue / Peacock Blue / Indigo Blue / Cerulean Blue / Violet / Parma Violet / Deco Pink / Terra Cotta / Dark Brown / Tuscan Red / Black / Cool Grey 70% / True Green / Silver
The tips don't break as easily as with some brands, and the color variety gives a wide array of color and shade choices

the orange keeps breaking and i havent even used it yet

In the end only 6 of the pencils last and worked as they should

but I guess I got a bad batch this time because the led would break

The wood in these Verithin pencils is of poor quality (maybe poor batch?) and falls apart a lot when sharpening
I cannot afford to lose half of them in the sharpening process
I like the feel of them in my hands as well, not as if I am going to break them, but sturdy for such thin precision
Sometimes I'm hesitant to order online because if their dropped, they'll crack and continue to break as you sharpen them
I'll be sharpening a pencil and sometimes, the lead will break off 2-5 times and I end up losing nearly half of the pencil simply from trying to sharpen the pencil one time

Shading, well, these are not best for shading, but you can do it, and when you do the color is light, almost transparent, when compared to soft lead pencils
Several of the pencils keep breaking the lead when sharpening
2 of the pencils had broken lead - I couldn't sharpen them due to it.
The lead keeps breaking as soon as I attempt to sharpen the pencils
but these are your soft prismacolor pencils very hard lead great for outlining
Great quality & good color mix, and we go through a good bit of colored pencils
I'd go with Crayola for a bit easier to blend pencil
The col-erase has a little bit of a "smoother" feeling than these, but I feel these are more like your normal graphite pencil (think HB or harder), but the difference is subtle.- Erasability
Sharpens to a fine point & holds it longer than the premiers, but seems a bit harder to lay color & blend since it is a much harder core than the premier soft core (obviously)
These are the only pencils my fiancée uses and she loves them.
Soft wood is difficult to sharpen without "eating" up the pencil.
Only complaint is I have an issue with the pencils not sharpening very well, like the wood tends to crack
The leads are much more resilient than the premiers , but the weird part bring that the "wood" feels more like a soft fibrous substance not like birch wood
I had to sharpen them halfway down because the lead was breaking off and the wood keeps splitting down the middle
