This set was defective and I am not happy this product.
These are harder and more study, (but you are less able to blend because of that).I had an issue with leads breaking on another Prisma set I bought from Amazon, but these have been working fine
These verithin pencils are a delight and will offer a great set of colors to get details in tiny spaces!
I bought a cheap Crayola set from Walmart that were 100 times better than these things
Howver, after reading the reviews I decided to spring for a "good" set of pencils
Then I use the prismacolor premier colored pencils for more color depth.
Great to use alongside Prismacolor premier colored pencils
This product is not like the other prismacolor premier color pencils
I was so very disappointed with my Prismacolor Premier Verithin Colored Pencils
I wanted these for detail and smaller spaces since my prismacolor premiers are difficult to use in tiny spaces unless I have a very sharp point on them
It seems as though Prismacolor has a real quality control issue that they have so far apparently ignored, despite the number of complaints they have had on this one issue, going back a couple of years at least
Sometimes I'm hesitant to order online because if their dropped, they'll crack and continue to break as you sharpen them
I loved the prismacolor soft core pencils, so bought the verithin in order to color smaller details
They work very well in combination with the softer Prismacolor pencils.
Prismacolor just has some issues with the wood used in these pencils:Like other reviewers' statements, I have had trouble sharpening the pencils
The pencils that do sharpen don't hold a point and break easily
They won't sharpen to a fine point, in fact, they will not sharpen
These work great for super fine detail work.. you can get a super sharp point.
You can sharpen them to a fine point and use them for the detailed areas with no breaking
And when you magically do get them to sharpen, the point will inevitably break before you can get it to a fine point, which is entirely contradictory to their designed intent
I like the feel of them in my hands as well, not as if I am going to break them, but sturdy for such thin precision
I would not recommend these for children as you could very easily lose a lot of money compared to crayolas, but if you're a seasoned artist with a semi-decent grip then go for it
I like the feel of them in my hands as well, not as if I am going to break them, but sturdy for such thin precision
Its frustrating because honestly I think for the price, crayola will be a better bet for pencils
I bought a cheap Crayola set from Walmart that were 100 times better than these things
these are very good, I like them to color in tiny spaces as well as for outlining.
coloring."The colors in the 36 count set include:Lemon Yellow / Canary Yellow / Spanish Orange / Goldenrod / Orange / Pale Vermillion / Pumpkin Orange / Poppy Red / Crimson Red / Process Red / Light Peach / Dahlia Purple / White / Warm Grey 20% / Aquamarine / Grass Green / Apple Green / Peacock Green / Olive Green / Ultramarine Blue / Peacock Blue / Indigo Blue / Cerulean Blue / Violet / Parma Violet / Deco Pink / Terra Cotta / Dark Brown / Tuscan Red / Black / Cool Grey 70% / True Green / Silver
These are the only pencils my fiancée uses and she loves them.
They are not pre-sharpened, which is why I lost most my Orange
The tips don't break as easily as with some brands, and the color variety gives a wide array of color and shade choices
In the end only 6 of the pencils last and worked as they should
I like the feel of them in my hands as well, not as if I am going to break them, but sturdy for such thin precision

The wood in these Verithin pencils is of poor quality (maybe poor batch?) and falls apart a lot when sharpening

I cannot afford to lose half of them in the sharpening process
I'll be sharpening a pencil and sometimes, the lead will break off 2-5 times and I end up losing nearly half of the pencil simply from trying to sharpen the pencil one time

Prismacolor made these thin and a bit harder to take and hold that very sharp point.
Great quality & good color mix, and we go through a good bit of colored pencils
Sharpens to a fine point & holds it longer than the premiers, but seems a bit harder to lay color & blend since it is a much harder core than the premier soft core (obviously)
A little bit harder than I expected but really good pencils
These are the only pencils my fiancée uses and she loves them.
