Reviews around quality (5.00 of 5)

  • Overall, right and left channel sound balanced, audio clarity has improved, channel separate is noticeable and build quality is surprisingly good
  • The sound quality is great: I get no signal noise whatsoever
  • I have a Pro-Ject turntable so chose this one because I knew it would be great quality.
  • It was crazy easy to set up (plug and play pretty much) and it immediately corrected audio issues as well as gave me the power of sound that having a turntable requires.

Reviews around channel (5.00 of 5)

  • Bought a second one, same problem. works for a weak, and then the left channel dies, as soon as I plug in a different (cheaper) preamp, both channels start working again
  • Overall, right and left channel sound balanced, audio clarity has improved, channel separate is noticeable and build quality is surprisingly good
  • The left channel also sounded a little weaker than the right channel & it was very very annoying.
  • It was crazy easy to set up (plug and play pretty much) and it immediately corrected audio issues as well as gave me the power of sound that having a turntable requires.

Reviews around cart (5.00 of 5)

  • It was crazy easy to set up (plug and play pretty much) and it immediately corrected audio issues as well as gave me the power of sound that having a turntable requires.
  • I'm not any kind of expert or audiophile, but I have a ( too Large) collection of vinyl jazz and opera, some purchased almost 50 years ago, and I am delighted at the sound from my 20 year old Denon turntable with this relatively inexpensive pre amp and a new cart and stylus.
  • Be sure you know what db gain your cart

Reviews around price (4.16 of 5)

  • I'd definitely recommend this to friends because it is good and reasonably priced
  • On the other hand, many of you would still probably be satisfied with the $12 Pyle pre-amp as being able to do a decent job for a much cheaper price.

  • I use this pre-amp with my Pro-Ject Debut Carbon, and it has exceeded my expectations
  • I've heard better phono amps that were powered by pototes
  • I could not set this test up as a double blind sort of study, but the Pro-ject preamp did seem to make the sound a bit crisper than with the cheaper pre-amp.

Reviews around product (3.75 of 5)

  • This product is ok, but beware that the warranty is completely useless (if purchased from Amazon) and, as I've proved, these _can_ break
  • Very good product for when you have to add additional length to your phonograph to get a clear signal.
  • Apparently my cheap-o weak turntable already had a preamp built in
  • This product is also NOT adjustable for either MM or MC cartridges
  • Was packaged very well and gives the feeling of a sturdy reliable product

Reviews around build (3.61 of 5)

  • I needed a Phono Pre-Amp for my receiver since the built in one strangely stopped working.
  • works great and seems well built, the only thing missing is an on/off switch.
  • I used it to replace the crappy built-in preamp on my Audio-Technica LP120 (that I soldered out of the turntable
  • I have a rather pedestrian turntable from TEAC with a really good Ortofon blue cartridge and a built in amp and by sheer instinct (and knowing Pro-ject's reputation

Reviews around phono (3.22 of 5)

  • Apparently my cheap-o weak turntable already had a preamp built in
  • I've heard better phono amps that were powered by pototes
  • I know there are better phono stages out there, but for the price this is a nice unit
  • Apparently my cheap-o weak turntable already had a preamp built in
  • The problem with a lot of inexpensive phono pre amps is they pick up EMI easily
