The screen has great colors and definition, the processor doesn't struggle, and the expandable memory are all great pluses.
It’s an IPS display that doesn’t give you vivid colors.
Both screens are Bright and FULL of Good Color

The camera on the Alcatel Idol is a nice one but no extra bells and whistles12 MP l pixel rear camera with dual-tone flash and 8 MP front camera with flash
After many reviews and visits to multiple forums, I saddled down and purchased the alcatel idol 5s amazon prime version.

I like the phone, the battery after charging last longer than my other phone, and the price was fair
Sounds great, runs great, good battery life for what I need
The battery is smaller as well.. however the screen looks very nice and is very bright.
However, lack of support and numerous bugs, coupled with the mediocre battery life do bring this down from what could have easily been a 4.5 out of 5 to 3.5 out of 5

Apparently, the device also supports CDMA network bands and with right software updates you could use it with Verizon/Sprint
But if you're looking for a well balanced device as a daily runner with good looks and stable performance at an attractive Prime special price, then this is clear VALUE.It's predecessor heavily focused on Virtual Reality and felt like a device dedicated for it and could even shoot 4K videos
The device seems to get slightly warm on extended periods of use, it didn't bother me and you will probably not notice if you have a case
I do find the Amazon lockscreen ads a bit annoying, but - hey - this is neither Alcatel's nor the device's fault
