Also nice to have adjustable height and tilt after using Samsung monitors in this price range with fixed stands
So the search turned into a new one for her, and I would get her old monitor, the height of which was just fine for me.
I really like the adjustable height, tilt and 90 degree rotation of screen.
The reason I bought this in the first place is that at the time i bought it was one of the few monitors in this price range that had a screen height greater than 1080.
Especially like the extra height of the 16:10 aspect ratio.
The 24" is a great size for day to day office/home use but not huge like a 27"
The size only caused everything to blow up larger, and fuzzy
Once I got it working the monitor looks great and is just the right size for my computer desk.
This ultrasharp is a great size and resolution for working with code and documents, and works well for 1080p video too, displaying it at full resolution without scaling
my comparison to the 27" Apple LED Cinema display is based on everything other than gross size and total pixels.
This monitor's unusual aspect ratio of 16:10 instead of 16:9 is only one of the things that distinguishes it from the many desktop monitors available -- Dell's quality control and features make this a great value, especially if you hold out for a moment when Amazon's dynamic pricing scheme is in a downswing
It is somewhat hard to find anything other than 1080p and this monitor is sharp and clear and a reasonable price.
Great product that does exactly what it is supposed to do at a great price.
Great high quality monitor, would buy againg, only downside is the price
It's almost free compared to prices for the junk out there.
Great resolution and image, stylish (almost borderless) design, and great functionality with the stand (raise or depress or swivel every which way).Recommend but know that the displayport if screwy and you might need this (or some other) workaround
The stand is solid and sturdy and really easy to adjust if I need to
My Eizo FG2421, on its weak plasticky stand, shakes all around if I push the desk a little.
The stand is sturdy and easy to adjust, and the USB ports on the back work reliably
The stand with height and tilt adjustment is solid and works well.
I guess a less complex display controller is the price for the low latency this monitor achieves
if you grab it wrong when you pick it up, your fingers can damage the display.
Packaging from Dell was 5 star, not a chance the display would be damaged or scratched.-I also have a Dell 2007WFP, and this is a continuation in nice Ultrasharp displays.
This monitor is everything I want a display to look like
My old Samsung 204t(20 inch 16:10) which has a .255mm pixel pitch) produces a smoother less grainy display and that iswhy I feel that the lack of lines of resolution is hampering this monitor
I have both connected via HDMI.The W-LED backlight reaches the brightness set via the menu immediately after powering on, whereas the old 2407FPW goes through a color temperature shift (from cooler to warmer) as the CCFL backlight warms up and reaches the set brightness
I wanted a better monitor my amateur photography and my wife needed a better monitor as she often works from home
I wanted a relatively large monitor that would mount on the wall and serve for everyday computer use as well as for viewing movies
Maybe I got lucky, but if it happens to you don't be afraid to ask for an exchange or refund, again my unit works as

Color accuracy out of the box is amazing and the quality of the IPS panel allows me to work for hours at a time with no eye strain or fatigue

I've been using 2 at work for 3 years now, and the picture is still as beautiful and perfect as it was on Day 1
I’ve used it for hours on end, almost 12 hours one day during a marathon programming session, with no eye strain.
It has non-flickering backlight (which is very important for reducing eye strain), good resolution, descent contrast, and great viewing angles (as it is IPS)
I can deal with it, but the lack of reliable daisy chaining makes these monitors much less usable for many scenarios, and I am disappointed in how Dell has handled their defect.
And the assistance did not come from the Dell website, which is next to useless as well b/c it deals with all Dell monitors, but not specific ones
Much like many of the other reviews have stated the lack of quality is a problem.
I wanted a relatively large monitor that would mount on the wall and serve for everyday computer use as well as for viewing movies
While some folks have complained about the unit's lack of a DVI input, it is of course easily handled with a passive DVI to HDMI adapter/cable
is a problem with the main menu button frequently not working,I don't plan to use the button much as I expect the button to totally die.2
, manifested the problem a different way - this time it would not flicker but make the screen blink every few seconds
This screen is just great, but I am giving it 2 stars because of the annoying connection problem.
Don't know if it was a defective monitor or a systemic problem with this unit and PowerBooks.
There is no fix of this problem (tech support suggestions are ridiculous: according to them (something that I had done anyway before I contacted them) you have to unplug and plug all cables (in different combinations) in order to switch it on again
To all the idiots posting 1 star reviews and making it sound like Dell is a terrible company with shady warranty policies...you are totally wrong and misleading people
Not exactly an emergency, but quite strange at the very least, and it might annoy people who want to use this monitor in the same room they sleep in
Most people don't notice LCD backlight flickering, but this is still a nice design decision for those with sensitive eyes, and for those that like to use their monitors at low brightness levels
I came to Amazon and read the product page along with a couple reviews and saw that people were quite unhappy with the fact that they're warranty was void after 30 days
I've searched the web and it seems people have been having this problem for many years with Dell monitors, and yet there is no solution
