A little hard to grasp against the body, but the shape is too cute!
And although I like the pineapple shape it has a tendency to slip when I have it resting on my thigh as I play
I like its unique pineapple shape, it's light and easy to hold
I love the pineapple uke shape a lot and wanted a relatively inexpensive one and I do love this one.
I'm a beginner but my friend who's really talented recommended the pineapple shape

I found an excellent ebay shop who sells online but also does set up and string changes and couldn't be happier with the instrument I got at nearly the same price (and MUCH better quality).
This is the sweetest uke, great quality for the price, and my 2.5 yo and myself love it!

I bought the Makala based on the many positive reviews, and I must say they were right.
but like other reviews have stated- has one string that is at least a half step off when fretted.
I chose the Kala Makala pineapple based on all the great reviews and its adorable vintage style

I changed the strings to the Aquila AQ-4 soprano regular set high G ukulele strings because I did not like the ones it came with
I personally like the soft beginner strings because they don't hurt my fingers

Otherwise... GREAT instrument, GREAT sound (With new chords), GREAT Finishes, GREAT GREAT GREAT.GET IT!
This way you know you aren't getting a defective instrument and that it will be playable
This is a great instrument to play if your looking for something easy and fun
Remember a good sounding instrument is fun to play, a bad sounding instrument gets left behind
This product is priced like a toy, but is a pretty nice instrument.

I didn't like the strings on it, and it is better after I changed them out for fluorocarbons.
Honestly, I couldn't tell that the black strings were bad until I put the Aquilas on
I also recomend you order strings when you order the Uke
I do suggest you buy better strings, they are easier to play for a beginner.
I personally like the soft beginner strings because they don't hurt my fingers
