Used this to control volume through headphones from a TV (with a converter box that does not have internal volume control)Works as described - sound quality is good.
The volume control works as described and is well made.
Its a little embarrassing using this ugly thing when I really like the look and feel of my headphones.
You don't use buttons; on this unit you use a dial (which to me it is a good thing). The cable on this unit is pretty long, so I imagine it can also be used as an extender
The MS Zune ipod is a great little thing but just doesnt have the volume needed to watch some low volume videos
Admittedly, it doesn't say that on the Amazon page, so that's a good thing
You can also use it for other clever things such as individual line volume adjustments without the use of a mixing board or compressor
Unfortunatly, after just two hours of use, the sound became distorted and i could not understand the conversation in the movie
So if the device has a poor sound and volume range, this does nothing to improve it
The sound quality of the Koss R-80, with the 16Hz-22kHz range, which to me is an important factor, allows excellent sound reproduction and no issues.
Sound was fine until then, now its a constant struggle to get the plug situated so that there is no static.
i connect an altec lansing orbit speaker to airport express, but there was no way to limit the volume, coz when the sound transmission starts for the first time the sound was very loud and could damage the speakers
Agreed, it was inexpensive, but I still have a volume problem almost as bad as before I got it.
A very inexpensive way to save your hearing on a treadmill with cheap volume controllers that won't let you get the right volume setting--either too soft or so loud it was ruining my hearing
I would recommend it to someone looking for an expensive way to increase volume slightly
I use this to attenuate way-too-loud signals for my in-ear headphones, and an accidental volume increase can be very unpleasant!
Overall it works and gives me a way to control the volume but not as sensitive as I would like.
I hooked the Koss volume control between my computer and speaker and speakers are great with no extraneous noise.
Works beautifully; no noise and the volume is sufficient
Works beautifully; no noise and the volume is sufficient
The volume control is smooth and noise-free, smoothly adjusting the volume from zero to full with one rotation of the compact dial inset into the mechanism.
I have nice noise-cancelling headphones that I use with this item and can not tell any audio distortion or loss of quality by having them plugged into this as opposed to being plugged straight into the speaker.
Works well for a split connection where you don't want to limit the volume on the other feed.
After enough cycles, all built-in sockets begin to make unreliable connections and eventually fail.
I've occasionally noticed that the connection isn't perfect, but mine's been banged around a lot and dragged on the floor of my study.
I bought this with a specific use in mind: to use it with an old but good n' comfy Sony MDR-A34 vertical in-ear short cord headphones and my trusted Sandisk Sansa Clip Zip playing flac files
And you know, adding more audio plugs and sockets threatens to make more scratchy connections
