Our 11 year old son, the Mario fanatic, loves the game - our 7 year old daughter, is "meh" about the game - my husband hates the game and enjoys the minigames
My son and I like this game much better than Mario Party 10 for Wii-U, which we actually bought a year prior to purchasing Mario Party 9
My 8 year old son loves Mario video games and I wasn't sure how this one would go over
My son (10 years old) and daughter (7 years old) both love this game.
I bought this game for my six year old great-grand son.
Our 10 and 12 year-old grandsons are really into the Mario Wii games, and they love this one.
My grandson can't get enough of Mario games, and this is his new favorite.
But then I started realizing, despite my disappointment, I was having a LOT of fun playing this one with my friends, as well as when I played it by myself
While I do honestly wish that there could've been online multiplayer action put into Mario Party, but overall it remains as strong and classic as you could honestly imagine with the fun
My grandson since he was 2 or 3 has loved video games as his dad did when he was young
Mario Party 9 is fun if you have 3 or more players though.
However, mario party 9 appears to have lost all of the magic that made the first 8 so classic
Pros:-The group move is different but adds a nice touch to the game.-Being able to select what type of games come up is cool-Controls in all of the mini games are basic enough that my 5 yr old can pick up on them-Games where you try to come in last are always funny-"Boss battles" are a lot of funCons:-There are no "teams" from the beginning (though I don't really recall Mario Party ever featuring that)-Wario must cheat if played by an NPC (jk)-None that are game breaking
But if you're an adult looking for a fun party game or friendly competition, I do not recommend Mario Party 9.It is in no way like its awesome predecessor, MP8
Mario Party 9 is different than the other Mario Parties, but once you adjust it's definitely fun
I've loved Mario Party since I first played MP5, and each one has been better than the last.
My favorite Mario Party ever, and I've played most of them
well overall the game is really fun, not the best mario party out there but its not as bad as everyone makes it out to be.
Not as lovely as Mario Party 5 but is still refreshing and enjoyable

I had a horrible time playing this, I felt like a banana on a couch
for all ages).-Some genuine gems in the mini-games you shouldn't miss, if you are a fan of the series-Kids will love it, and young kids can play fairly well on their own (your mileage may vary)-Bright, colorful, cheerful-Easy to play, quality game (no bugs, no glitches, quality Nintendo software)-Cooperative play (for kids)CONS:-Strategy elements pretty much gone (will disappoint long-time, adult fans)-Game controls for motion still lacking (also, no motion plus offered, or required)-Only one trip through the board, on rails, very little control for the player-Limited customization options for the game type you wish to play-Limited number of mini-games played per each game session (they obviously wanted to speed up the time it takes to play a session)-Forced cooperation (for
Great game and makes for a very good time when playing 4 players
In the previous Mario Partys, the worst part for me and anyone that I know, personally, were the shops and lag time when it was the computer's turn.
And me and their dad can play too and have a great time
A lot of this game comes down to luck of the dice roll.
It feels so fun seeing your friend's reaction of you getting lucky or them rolling one of those "unlucky dice roll"
The dice roll moves the car forward with everyone in it... it isn't nearly as enjoyable as the previous games
Instead of each player moving individually on whatever the dice roll says, every player at the start of their turn is the "captain" and is in a vehicle and moves as a unit
It is nice that your fortune doesn't depend on a good die roll; everyone moves at the same pace in a little
