Overall, P4G is better than most other RPGs that I have played, and is one of the best games that I own on the Vita
One of the best RPGs ever if you have a vita you have to buy this
This is hands down one of the best RPGs there has ever been, and this is the better version of it!
One of the best PS2 games and one of the best RPGs ever is made even better on the Vita
most RPGs with turn-based combat are often tedious due to how they always require the player to use the same tactics and redundantly engage in encounters, often out of their ability to predict, Persona 4 Golden however, allows your combat to evolve, and gives breathers with its visual novel identity, having a social system with great characters that are timeless and loveable
This is one my favorite games of all time and every PS Vita owner should own a copy, it is also in my opinion the best JRPG that was released in the 2000's
It may be my favorite game of all time and the only JRPG I've ever played through
Pretty standard turn based combat mechanics as far as JRPG's are concerned, and as
If you don't mind repetition (or even like it), or if you're a die-hard JRPG fan or a fan of Shin Megami Tensei games in general, then you'll probably like the game.
And it is the best JRPG that I've ever played and also the best game for me in the last five years
and I now believe this is the best RPG if not game available on the VITA.
The game is a very deep RPG, and even though my review has been so long, I have only scratched the surface
It's by far the best game I've found on the system, and one of the best RPG's I've ever played on ANY system
It reminds us that not only the Japanese rpg is not dead but it can contend with the best games of 2012.
I felt PS4 didn't offer any additional reasons to buy it aside from being a rare turn-based RPG in a market flooded with lazy unimpressive action-RPG's
While I was a bit worried at first about the social gameplay, it becomes very addictive as it boosts the experience of personas (your monsters) you create.-Strategic Battles: This game is turn based JRPG where you can control each of the characters (like FFX) or you can choose to control only main character and give basic commands to your team mate (like FFXIII?)
This can make this experience very strategic as well as addicting.-Mysterious Main Story and Involving Sub-stories: Usually I find interacting with other characters (i.e going to them and talking to them) boring in most RPGs but in this game it is quite fun and useful
The only negative I experienced was the new VA for Chie
but if you miss a good ole' JRPG experience then this game is a must for you.
I feel like ill have to play through it multiple times for the full experience persona 4 golden is worth every penny you would spend on it
If your vita has been collecting dust like mine has this will get you back in the game
As of the time of me writing this review, I have to say that this is the best Vita game
Although everyone is confused as to what the midnight channel is, Yu decides to tell the others about what happened to him; how he went inside the TV
Best game on PSV so far, the Vita is lacking on RPG and P4Golden delivers like no other, I played the original version for PS2 and this one has some added content that adds even more value to the whole Social Link business
If you have a Vita, and you like this sort of game, this is one you just CANNOT pass up
Ohhh what a mistake I made! There are plenty of detailed reviews on how good this game is, but what struck me most:-Detailed graphics (steam, fog, character expressions) paired with detailed audio (love the music, sounds from the smallest actions and objects like birds, walking, eating, opening doors)-Character voicing!!
Story is very interesting, music is amazing, characters are very likable
This is a wonderfully made game with great characters, great murder mystery story, great music, great pokemon-ish style monster collecting, great just everything, and it you can even be the coolest guy in high school
For those that have never played persona 4, be in for a real treat as you embark on a journey with the main character killing shadows, crushing cards all whilst going out with 6 different girls, punching your friend in the face, talk about murder and listen to inappropriate cheery music for the game
Amazing characters, amazing music, amazing storyline, everything in this game is amazing!!
As far as gameplay is concerned, the bulk of Persona's action is found within its dungeon crawling sequences and Pokemon-esque style gameplay
Fans fell in love with the character's, the gameplay, the school life "life sim" aspects, as well as it's story
One of my favorite rpgs, great story and best of all great gameplay.
, the actual gameplay gets a bit repetitive, game requires lots of boosting time (farming monsters to be a high enough level to beat bosses), and the advanced fusing of personas seems way too difficult to ever have all the necessary pieces
The gameplay is simple and straightforwd, and once a healthy level is reached, you could feasibly grind through the randomized dungeons ad nauseum
Fans fell in love with the character's, the gameplay, the school life "life sim" aspects, as well as it's story
And then there are passing moments when you realize that you don't know a character as well as you thought, like when Chie mentions in passing that Yosuke calls her up at night to tell her dirty jokes
Although everyone is confused as to what the midnight channel is, Yu decides to tell the others about what happened to him; how he went inside the TV
I am over 40 hours into the game and have just scratched the surface
The game is a very deep RPG, and even though my review has been so long, I have only scratched the surface

Now you have to try each different form of attack in order to find out an enemy's weakness
And then there are passing moments when you realize that you don't know a character as well as you thought, like when Chie mentions in passing that Yosuke calls her up at night to tell her dirty jokes
I feel this mechanic works quite well, as there's a real sense of progression between each day, and as you move through the game you get more options and more openness as to how you spend your time
Enemies will have weaknesses which you will be able to exploit
The actual dungeon crawling aspect was probably my least favorite part, but at least the layout and theme changes which keeps it interesting
If you're the type of person who hates dungeon crawling, you really don't have to worry in this one
Really liked how you can grow these personas by traditional RPG grinding tactics (leveling up in dungeons) as well as through social linking (spending time with the characters in the game).-Creating Strong and Unique Personas
Fans fell in love with the character's, the gameplay, the school life "life sim" aspects, as well as it's story
I almost didn't get it because of the dreadful dungeon crawling but the story seems great
I had never played anything related to the persona series and even when the trailers and such came out, I was a bit skeptical
It always seemed a bit cheap to have Yuuka just tell you
This makes it an easier game to go back to since you can slide back in at any point without too much trouble, but it may leave you feeling it's a bit more superficial
It was one of the gems of PS2 and has't lost its luster a bit after this many years
The characters are all well done and voice acted and you find yourself actually liking them quite a bit.
way!- Marvelous combat system, while it may seem simple at times, it's very fun and addictive, All'out attacks, physical attacks, magic, buffs, and creating strategy surrounding the roles of your characters is simply amazing.- Extremely creative dungeons that will remind you of your childhood !
But objectively, the music gets on your nerves within an hour, the dungeons are like "Betrayal at Krondor" level of sophistication, and I'm sorry to say, but there was just too much cultural difference between the storyline and my own experiences growing up
afterwards). The only flaws that I really can point out are the optional dungeon (which basically sucks all of the fun out of the battle system) & the story
Also, despite the fact that the overall combat system is well polished and fun, it gets boring as randomly generated dungeons vastly overstay their welcomes
There are 9 cool dungeons you can explore throughout the breathtaking story
It did seem a little easier than the PS2 version, but you can always choose the hardest difficulty to get around that I'm sure
You also have different difficulty settings that you can choose from when you first start your game, so in other words it's perfect for those who want to take it easy or who want a real challenge
If you die in battle, the difficulty you have chosen will decide whether you can restart a battle, a floor of a dungeon, or just be dead forever and need to reload
A big example of this is the boss of the first dungeon, but I won't spoil exactly how they changed it.-Overall difficulty seems slightly harder than the original
If you enjoyed it the first time for it's combat then this has had elements to improve it (Rise's new abilities to aid the party during combat being a shining point) but the difficulty has been eased quiet a bit so be aware
and play! This is not a kids game and does carry a Mature "M" rating.
But, regarding the story, it's a murder mystery that takes place in a small town which you visit for a year
This is a wonderfully made game with great characters, great murder mystery story, great music, great pokemon-ish style monster collecting, great just everything, and it you can even be the coolest guy in high school
One of the strong points (of many) of this game is its awesome and unique murder mystery story and equally unique characters
But, regarding the story, it's a murder mystery that takes place in a small town which you visit for a year
Defeating the enemies takes some thinking on harder difficulties and it isn't a cake walk if you are playing on a more difficult setting than the medium one
By using Zio you'll be able to knock over an enemy, gain another turn, use Zio to knock over the second enemy, gain another turn, then use it gain for a final time to knock the last one down
The difficulty curve is a little harsh to begin with, especially if you play on a higher difficulty, and the random chance of a TPK from a lucky enemy power is still possible, but apart from that increasingly rare occurance as you level and improve, this game is easily worth the 60-70 hours you can dump into even a single playthrough, all of it worth the effort and even the few tears this game can ellicit.
Like typical RPGs enemies are weak and strong against elements, but figuring out which enemy is weak is where this game challenges you
You can attack regularly, but your Personas have elements that can be used to weaken enemies and deal more damage
