good soundstage, a little more bassy than 600 598. but less veild than older sennheiser phone

Overall great headset I highly recommend this headset for pinpointing footsteps and enemy’s locations, great soundstage.

As a father and husband, an open soundstage is important to me

but u can hear some nice bass with a pretty good soundstage

They have a really nice style, and I don't play my music very loud so the open back idea isn't bad for me in public

Super comfortable velour style ear covers so no sweat build up or gummy ear.

The ear cups are super comfortable, and personally I like the style and colorway

Now they have a replaceable cord which is great and the style is much better

After owning so many headphones of different price ranges.. I really love these... but everyone's ears are different but these fit perfect for my taste of music.. ranging from rock to hip hop to electronic, etc

But when I don't want to annoy the neighbors - which has been most of my listening life - and when I want a quiet, contemplative experience with a high-dynamic-range, uncompressed piece of music - I would reach for these headphones every time.

These headphones offer a great range of quality sound, with well-articulated bass to warm mids and highs

Where these shine is musical music; high-fidelity, high-dynamic-range, properly mic'd and mixed: real sounds, transferred to media by real engineers who are trying to bring a listening experience.

It is clearer, cleaner, more detailed and great bass for open headphones

On the flip side, the HD 600, common with professionals and often used as a reference standard, has a nice neutral balance and great detail, but they were always missing something for me, almost like they sucked the life out of the music

I was able to get much better detail, and also listen at higher volumes without sacrificing quality

Though if you're in a noisy environment, it will disturb your listening experience

but i have tried some headsets and believe me no one of them is like this for this price!can keep them for more than two hours without feeling any sweat or itchy with a very clear and nice listening experience, i is also use it for gaming except that it needs a mic if you want one and it doesnt come with any,would give five star if there was a mic and pc cable or usbalso no case but why the case if it looks AWESOME!the picture was taken without any lighting effects or editing!

On some tracks, like Pink Floyd's Pulse album or the Final Fantasy XV soundtrack, these amped is an amazing experience

The soundstage has already opened up noticeably in only five hours and change of listening, and prior experience tells me they should improve quite a bit, so I will update this review with whatever happens

But whille the sound quality is the same, the headphones fit on my head a bit tighter than the 598, which is a shame because the HD 598 was one of the most comfortable pair of headphones I ever wore from the moment I started using them

You'll be blown away by another great pair from sennheiser

A friend of mine bought a pair of 579s and loves them though, so obviously your mileage may vary.

Coming from Bose noise cancelling headphones, which certainly have their place for air travelers, there is no comparison

Love the double ended plug cords, no risk of headphone damage by yanking the cord... at most, u will replace the cord, very clever design.

There are two cords with different size plugs included; the big 1/4" one would fit the monitor output on my daughter's sound recording equipment but in that application I suppose the open back design might be bad

I tested these against the B&W P3/P5/P7 and prefer the open back design, with plush velour pads, where the drivers aren't a millimeter away from your ear drums.

The open back design doesn't make them neighbour friendly for commuting/travelling

The design is hit or miss, but I like it

They dont clamp your head too tight, and your ears dont get too hot if you have these on for extended periods of time

The only thing that surprises me is they still warm up my ears like the 280s

They are so soft and big so they don't push on your ears and hurt.

Of course I can tell that I have them on, but the top headband is luxuriously soft and the ultra-soft ear pads envelope your ears

The bass seems a bit stronger and deeper with these almost to the point of being too much, but I quickly realized this was from my previous headphones having terrible bass response and this is what it should have sounded like

However, listening to Sublime with Rome while these are amped make their already overpowered bass guitar even more so and it drowns out some other parts of the track

I now understand why some reviewers say the bass on the HD599 is ‘muddy’ or that the drivers are ‘overengineered.’These headphones are geared towards treble and bass

The HD598s have identical mid response and tone in my A/B testing, but are a hair slower and slushier making for slightly less aggressive sound

First, it provides a little relief when the sound gets a tad too loud, sort of, an escape hatch.

Unfortunately the 990's had worse sound quality than the 770 (a bit harsher sounding and not as clear) and were very uncomfortable even after only a couple of hours

Their electrical impedance (basically a measure of resistance/how much the signal needs to be amplified to drive the headphones properly) is fairly low at 50 Ohms, meaning that they can be plugged straight into most mobile devices and still have great sound

If I had to express some minor gripes, I would criticize a few things
