4d, Agreed that the pictures from this sigma (once you set the sharpness right :)), the Bokeh and the color contrast are just amazing.

When this lens hits the mark, the sharpness is simply amazing.

First, the sharpness wide open is outstanding, the only thing that changes going from center to the corners is vignetting, sharpness visually stays the same.

Again, clarity and sharpness are as good or better than any Canon lens I've ever used.

After around 5 hours of work, the quality/ sharpness/ color contrast is far better on this Sigma than the Nikon 85 mm.

I used the sigma dock to adjust the sharpness but somewhere I lost confidence in the Sigma quality assurance process.

Beautiful lens - takes amazing pictures!

I got this lens off of eBay for 150 less than regular retail, the seller is Circuit City for anyone wondering, what can I say about this lens, it's amazing, it's like the canon 85L just more refined and faster, images are so so so so sharp, the weight of it is very nice too and it feels very well made, just amazing over all, not complaining.

This lens produces Super Sharp and Beautiful images.

I tested this Sigma lens and it is just as fantastic and good as the new one.

This is a beautiful lens.

The lens is amazing.

Amazing clarity in the pictures.

Gives me the creamiest most dreamy pictures!

I will say, though, I wish it had some weatherproofing or should I say, drool resisting at the very least!I started taking pictures of my cat though and boy, was I hooked!

I have never had one that takes pictures this good.

Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens for Nikon F (321955)

Stunningly good lens, put my 85 f1.

This lens is sharper at f1.

4, focuses faster and with less CA than the Canon 85mm f1.

I knew I was going to want that f1.

The lens is tacky sharp even at f1.

Incredibly sharp lens, I also own a Nikon 85mm 1.

Once I dialed in the focus on the lens (Which literally took me about 10 - 15 minutes), it's been razor sharp (You can use this with the Sigma USB Dock, not included, but just so you know).

Such a fast and sharp lens.

This lens to super fast, very sharp at f/1.

Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens for Nikon F (321955)

Excellent build quality.

Lens is a bit heavy and big, but the image quality is awesome!

It feels like high quality and takes high quality photos.

I highly recommend to calibrate the lenses for the best quality possible.

The visual quality is surperb.

The build quality is fantastic, and the giant focusing ring is a pleasure to use for photos and videos.

Yes, it's big, but the image quality starting at f/1.

A little on the heavy side, but the image quality is tack sharp.

Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens for Nikon F (321955)

Focus speed was quick, and wide open shots had undetectable chromatic aberration.

Wide open was incredible, and focus was dead on with my Canon 5D MKIII.

People isn't lying about how big this lens isIn fact, it's bigger than I thought it would be86mm filter is not a common size but you can still find some with B+WThis lens is heavy tooI don't recommend using this lens on a crop body or a smaller body without battery gripFocus is right on with some AF fine tune in cameraThe focus speed and accuracy is way better than the Sigma 35 1.

Once I dialed in the focus on the lens (Which literally took me about 10 - 15 minutes), it's been razor sharp (You can use this with the Sigma USB Dock, not included, but just so you know).

2L and this lens is sharper and easier to focus.

You need to get the Sigma USB dock (I got mine for free when I got my 150 - 600 Sport lens but I believe it's $60) Sigma makes it extremely easy for you to fine tune the focus on your lens.

Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens for Nikon F (321955)

I was led to believe that calibration was as simple as plugging the lens into a docking station.

It involves putting the camera on a tripod, measuring with a tape measure and taking a series of pictures, putting it on the docking station, and then repeating the process several times.

My model was back focusing badly when I first received it, The docking station and a little patience fixed that little issue.

If you buy this lens, buy the docking station.

Autofocus is quick and zippy and has been nearly perfect on my Canon 6D.

I think it definitely competes with the Canon 85 mm f/1.

Wide open was incredible, and focus was dead on with my Canon 5D MKIII.

I rented the Canon 85mm and loved it, but all of my peers pressured me to get the Sigma.

I had so much faith in this gem that I sold my Canon 85mm 1.

I seriously don't know how Sigma are doing it, but these Art lenses are just incredible!

I highly recommend to calibrate the lenses for the best quality possible.

They don't have the time and resources to make sure every single one of these lenses that goes out are absolutely perfect, and nor can they.

This is probably one of the best lenses I have owned.

Sigma art lenses are as good as it gets.

I shoot local bands in dark bars, so I need fast lenses and I'm always at f/1.

Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens for Nikon F (321955)

I tested one for about half an hour, comparing it to the old version, then returned it.

I think it's because of the balance--this lens is longer and heavier than the old version, and even though I'm accustomed to lenses like the Canon 70-200 f/2.

I'm not noticing any focusing issues some reviews have stated although I still plan on purchasing the Sigma lens dock just in case.

I used the sigma dock to adjust the sharpness but somewhere I lost confidence in the Sigma quality assurance process.

I spent around 4 hours on calibrating and fixing the lens on the SIgma Dock using the Optimization software.

I have the Sigma dock but was not needed on the 5dsr and 1DX mk2.

I am a professional photographer and one of the biggest mistakes I've made in building my business was investing in Sigma lenses.

Excellent build quality.

The build quality is fantastic, and the giant focusing ring is a pleasure to use for photos and videos.

The build quality is great, feels quite solid, but not as solid as the Otus (a subjective matter, mostly because the Otus feels like "cold metal", even the hood, this one feels more like a good quality polycarbonate :)I've read some folks complain about the size and weight of this lens.

While I love the lens build quality and the feel for the manual focus ring, I am very unhappy about the following issues that I faced:1.

If you are going to use this lens outdoors unprotected and in harsh weather.

Sigma has stated that this lens (Among many other ART lenses) is NOT meant to be out in harsh weather, and it is definitely not meant to be outdoors during pouring rain for an extended period of time.

I can understand people may get tired while shooting a 200/2 on a 1dx, but the Sigma + a 5D-type body is light and very manageable.

It did not bother me because I was getting sharp images with amazing bokeh but can be a concern for some people.

Hope my 2cents help people who are interested.

I want to take a minute though and go over some things that some people have had issues with.

However, some people are saying they sent back multiple lenses more than likely isn't a lens problem, it's a problem with that person and not knowing how to fix this on their own.

Further edits: I continued taking pictures on my Nikon D7200 and the SIGMA 85mm 1.

Then ran the AF Fine Tune on my camera which further "strengthened the marriage" between the lens and the Nikon D7200 body.

Maintains high contrast from nearly 0 to 255 on my Nikon D7200.

I stll consider this lens a great, however if you are planning on purchasing this lens then be aware of the following below:I use a Nikon D7200 so I will compare with the Nikon 85mm lens.
