We bought the PLAY:5 to replace a PLAY:3 in our great room

Though I have it in a smallish-sized room, it's easy to see (hear?) that it could easily fill a much larger room with great music

but WOW.. fills the room with fantastic highs and lows, great bass and a great investment into your entertainment system.

You can really crank it up too and just fill a room with loud while you enjoy some loud

Oh, the play 1s sound really great in my kitchen as well, far better than they did straining to fill a two story plus loft great room

The Sonos 5 is the flagship of the individual speakers, and has excellent bass response and dynamic range for such a small speaker

The setup was very easy and I put them vertically about 15 Feet aqwy from each other

This setup blows away my Denon reciever with the Monitor audio speakers in functionality.

I love the clear sound and the setup is incredibly easy.

Sonos support did make a real effort to help me get the device working as it is now.

Bose Wifi Speakers and they don't even come close to the sleek design and sound of the Play 5 Speakers so don't even waste your money

Love my Sonos System, which includes two Play 5 speakers, a sound bar, two Play 2, and a sub woofer.

Since they are a very proprietary system, you are totally at the mercy of Sonos.

Not a good sound system if you think you should use it for a varied of sources

Somewhere between the latest upgrade to Win10 AND Sonos recent software upgrade, my system became unusable.

The bass presence is wonderful, as if you had a separate sub, really a wonderful product.

But -after changing my WI-FI router and trying to reconnect the SONOS, I do not recommend this product.

Great high quality products and have never had a failure.

Eh, all in all I love the sound, but I would NEVER recommend this product to anyone, nor will I ever buy another Sonos product.

Going to the Sonos website, I found that even finding technical support was difficult, and clicking on any specific issue brings you in an endless loop

Airplay is actually well supported on Sonos if you have the Play5, for it has a line in (as do the Connects)

Support has been useless after five rounds of back and forth.

Yes, the app is very easy to use and the speaker is easy to install.

App works great and incredibly easy to plug and play via computer or iphone

You can't even plug a jack into it, it HAS to go through the wifi or bluetooth and only through it's proprietary app

And now I fear my Play 5 has a failed wireless card since it just stopped working and won’t connect wirelessly but will connect if plugged in directly to the router

I'd never really heard my favorite songs until I played them on this!Easy to set up, took only a few minutes, although FYI if you are planning to stream Spotify to your Sonos know that you can't unless you have a premium Spotify account

Your ears may be ringing!The best thing that the Play 5 did for me was made me fall in love music again, and not with just my old music but with entirely new songs in completely new genres, songs I'd never thought I'd find myself listening to and enjoying over and over again

Connectivity from the apple mobile devices to my router is less than perfect so every so often a song is interrupted.

Just simply doesn't work very well - nonstop updates, incompatibilities, inability to read songs in the iTunes library, dropped wireless needing reset, losing settings...and the company has a bad attitude towards its customers: I'd been using Sonos speakers off of a desktop Mac for years.

The only positive I can say, is that if you are fine accessing music you've downloaded to your device via their software, and you accept the fact the device has a 2-5 year lifespan, the sound is a solid 6 out of 10 and will suffice your needs.

Well it ends up the issue is with my wifi which is not surprising having cox as my ISP (avoid cox if at all possible!).Sonos caught wind of my complaints and called me and spent over an hour trouble shooting and optimizing my wifi remotely
