Took this on a float trip and the battery life is very good
One issue I did have and found that other people have, though, is that it will stutter as if it’s buffering about once per song when connected to an Android phone running 6.0 Marshmallow, which admittedly is a few years old now
If you pour water on your speaker you don't have to worry as it will bead off the thing.
The sound is very good and the battery life is excellent.
This is a great speaker, very good sound, very good battery life
When this Sony popped up in my Amazon Vine queue for products available for sampling and review, I almost passed on it since I already have all I need in small BT speakers, but the synced lighting effects on the face of the unit looked kind of fun to me (besides affording my wife the opportunity to roll her eyes at me saying, "Really
I usually don't like products that also have an app, because the app is usually crap, but not so with this one
I don`t know if I got a defective product or that`s just how they are
But neither detracts from what is a simply an outstanding product! In short, there are no downsides for me - and overall, I could not be happier with this unit
Awesome sound though with nice bass; an overall great little product.
I got to thinking, in order to be fair and give Sony the benefit of the doubt, I had failed to consider in my first test run and review, that the short battery life might have been the victim of running the "light show" on the speaker, the whole time that it was playing loud music
If the music is even moderately loud, the tapping and hitting registers enough to trip the lights, but the playing of the music apparently overrides the party booster action.
It's lazy, and it ruins anything but a subset of popular music with no complexity to lose in the first place
We love music in our house and this speaker feels like an experience itself
It's lazy, and it ruins anything but a subset of popular music with no complexity to lose in the first place
Sony severely missed the mark on this one which makes me sad, because I really wanted to like this speaker.
This is our second Sony portable wireless bluetooth speaker
Sony have simply exceeded my expectations with this Bluetooth speaker
The only other experience I've had with Sony wireless speakers is with the Sony XB40 Portable Wireless Speaker with Bluetooth and Speaker Lights, Black, and that was very positive
The speaker is loud, and maybe the Bose sounds better (sound link, sound revolve, etc, but they dont't sound as loud as the Sony, in my opinion I wanted to buy the best speaker there was an jbl that cost 450$ but it was to big, Sony is the best portable speaker period I checked all speakers in the store
Great bass and the lights are pretty cool when you have them going
The mids and high come through convincingly and the bass is loud without being too boomy or clipped.
This is a nice speaker with amazing bass sounds and cool lights
The sound profile was lacking bass and lacking good human singing voice reproduction, the sound's dimension felt small and narrow, and did not hold up in high volume
At lower levels the XB21 sounds good, but as you raise the volume, you lose bass

We use it for background music at home as well as when my daughters are practicing routines with their music.
I also got a hard case that fits perfectly (Esimen 2018 Design Hard Case

Worst case scenario, after having deleted the app (apps; there are two that sounded likely but

Usually, I would recommend this option; however, the flat line on the EQ did sound as good as if you elevated each of the three areas (treble, midtone, bass) in some successive pattern

On my first test run, I had played it with the light show going the full time, as well as with the above average sound level
Where it loses stars is the power cord and battery life
The IP67 rating and the other features mentioned make it a decent option that will provide some durability that's missing from many other portables, but the bass response and lack of charger detract a bit.
It may be a bit harsh, but when a company makes a bold claim, they need to deliver on it
The music app is a bit difficult for me at first, yet it all depended on if I had enabled Bluetooth, and registering this baby was not allowed at one point,
The light system, while gimmicky, adds a bit of fun, as does the ability to setup multiple speakers in a group
While the flashing lights are great for when I have guests, personally I enjoy the lights when I'm home alone too because I just love a bit of a light show any old time
