LG worked best at the 8000 level for a much lower price point, but the dual database processing, superior contrast (look at this model side by side with the 800E model and you really see the difference), the Sony won the 900/9000 comparison
Sony X900F is very good, but it is hard to recommend at the current prices.

The Sony was easy to assemble out of box, color and picture needed no adjustments right out of the box
As for television, set up and programming went well Sony software upgrade made a difference.
XBR’s are in my opinion the best consumer tv’s on the market, always have been
To most I'd probably recommend the 2018 Vizio P or M series where you have a better chance of getting a great panel.
I was excited for the 2018 models, P series especially.

Instead of wasting a lot of space talking about the quality of the picture (believe me, it is there), I am going to concentrate on some finer points, particularly those real and perceived weak points:(This is replacing a 2009 Sony Z-Series TV, which I also love and still consider a fantastic TV; it was the first year of Internet-capable TVs if I remember correctly, and I used the DLNA features with Universal Media Server, but could never get a Plex profile to work right, so I am happy to have a newer TV that supports Plex via App, besides for the 4k, HDR, etc., etc.

The colors are super vibrant, blacks are deep, and the clarity and contrast is wonderful
Extremely vibrant colors, striking contrast in normal content, stunning peak brightness, little to no color banding,Nice tv speaker sound,Good black bar control, great SDR content, excellent sharpness, great noise reduction, nice aluminum frame, tons of picture options, google assistant, and easy setup
Setup was easy and I didn't need to touch any of the video settings to get rich, vibrant color
The picture quality is excellent, colors are much more vibrant and blacks are better than 800D. HDR has been improved as well as adding DV support
I bought tv for my daughter, she like it so much, beautiful colors and sound

So this is as much an android tv issue as it is a comcast/xfinity issue, and by that it means Sony should have thought first before getting involved
the upscaling isn't supposed to be as good as with other companies.

The included stand does an adequate job of holding up the TV, but does not seem stable enough to support the set in the event of an earthquake, which we have plenty of here in California
No regrets about getting a smaller set and skipping the TCL 6
I love the Sony, it was worth paying extra, the Sony 4k Triluminos Blu-Ray I already had plays well with the set and movies look incredible
The TV walks you through setting up the remote so that you can use it to control set-top boxes (in my case DirecTV) - made it drop dead simple
So this is as much an android tv issue as it is a comcast/xfinity issue, and by that it means Sony should have thought first before getting involved
I thought my ideal stand was either a perfect 90-degree version of the Sony A1E, or perhaps the A8F, which I had my eye on due to its very low profile, minimalist stand.

Prefer the stand on last year's model; seems a tad wobbly with the kangaroo feet.
