The Soundcore Flare Portable Bluetooth by Anker is the best of both worlds.
Loss of 1 star because the bluetooth didn't seem very reliable despite only a few feet away and kids would keep coming downstairs to complain

It also has a few EQ profiles so you can tweak the sound a bit, and the bass boost can be turned on or off in the app in addition to a button on the top of the speaker
This speaker has great sound in an affordable package and the bass boost and light features make it that much better

Pros: I loved the sound quality and lights on the speaker, I also loved the ability to pair two Soundcore Flares for a surround sound effect
I wanted to use this for my small office, but the quality at low volume is bad
My overall experience with this speaker it does get loud but not to a point it will deafen your ear lobes, sound quality is good, bass has some thump and punch to it

My biggest issue with this product is that the advertised battery life is not accurate, instead of 12 hours it lasts about 5.5 hours on max volume
But recently the battery life has been abysmal
Generally there are trade offs between big bulky speakers with good base and long battery life and more portable speakers with tinny audio and quick battery drainage.
