Reviews around gameplay (4.76 of 5)

The community can be obnoxious at times, but the gameplay itself is so, so, so much fun
-
My husband and I play with the kids and we enjoy it as much as they do!
-
No local gameplay is not an issue if you got a decent internet connection.
-
There's plenty to do, it's fun to play with friends, and the gameplay is a masterpiece
-
So if you enjoy the gameplay and idea, there's definitely a lot of fun time that can be spent mastering it.- - - -So, for those already familiar with the series, my opinions on the game so far

Reviews around shooter (4.61 of 5)
-
This game has been easy to learn, fun to play and is a child friendly shooter
-
It takes away the great gaming experiences I had as a kid of split screen shooters like Halo with your friends.
-
This is one of the best shooter games ever made, and everyone with a Switch should own it.
-
Not normally one for competitive shooters, this game has a lot more to offer than your standard shooter
-
Fun kill time light hearted game... anyone that loves shooters and hate actually harming " things" will love it ..... by far a great shooter for someone who does not want a war type game !

After the kids were disappointed with no multiplayer they each played it once and have not touched it since
-
My kids were super excited about this game, but they cannot get the hang of the lousy controls
-
My kids and I were disappointed.
-
While it works on the switch... now my kids can't buy any of the downloadable content for it because it is Incompatible and Nintendo does not refund on downloads.
-
So the only reason to get it is to play with a kid appropriate shooter WITH your kids

Great game, fun to play online, and the campaign is good too.

Fun kill time light hearted game... anyone that loves shooters and hate actually harming " things" will love it ..... by far a great shooter for someone who does not want a war type game !
-
Fun at first but then entirely too repetitive, hardly challenging, and bleek to point of selling for pennies.
-
This game has been easy to learn, fun to play and is a child friendly shooter

Like the first game, this will start fun and get worse the longer you play it.

Reviews around mode (3.83 of 5)
-
Playing Splatoon 2 with my son without split screen mode we have been sharing the gaming where he does the easy
-
The online matches are fun,and diverse with lots of game modes, including a competitive mode where you get ranked.
-
Aside from the main online game (Turf War), there are a number of ranked battle modes available, as well as a new fun and intense cooperative mode called Salmon Run.
-
Great multiplayer modes, and a much fuller single player mode.
-
The one thing I wish it had was split screen multiplayer mode - everyone has to have their own switches to play.

Reviews around multiplayer (3.44 of 5)

Can you blame those that bought this game thinking there was split screen multiplayer
-
No split screen multiplayer is a deal breaker on this one
-
Multiplayer is great and singleplayer is excellent for a multiplayer oriented game.
-
No split screen multiplayer is a HUGE let let down for me.
-
Frankly, I think the game is kind of boring alone and the online multiplayer isn't great

Reviews around thing (3.29 of 5)
-
Although not much is new it isn't a bad thing because splatoon is so much fun, it all feels very polished compared to the first game as well
-
BUT there was no reason for them to ruin other things in the game.
-
awesome game the only thing i dont like is that it mostly online
-
Otherwise, Splatoon will just continue to be a port of the original from the Wii U.FYI, the single worst thing about this game is the co op play with other people in the same room.
-
This game nearly refines every good thing from the first game

I'm giving this game 5 stars because my kids really like it, but personally it didn't do much for me
-
So many 1 star reviews because people don't bother doing research on a game
-
My husband and I play with the kids and we enjoy it as much as they do!
-
Would be 5 stars if it had split screen but without it there is no need to buy.

I will state as well, that there seems to be a lot of problems with connection issues, because I always get a team where someone has disconnected.

This game is a lot like Splatoon U (thats just what I call Splatoon for the Wii U).

If you loved the first Splatoon on the Wii U, you will love this one also

If you expect to play with a split screen, do not buy this game
-
Very happy c:
-
Can you blame those that bought this game thinking there was split screen multiplayer
-
The minus star is because surprisingly they did not develop a split screen capability (like in Mario Kart or other shooters, like N64's Goldeneye...)
-
If you are complaining about no split screen multiplayer this game doesn't need it
