I hate the wire between the conventional speaker duo and had to send back a couple because the wire was too short.
Here's a minor downside: this cable to plug into your 'output' is hard-wired into the speaker and unless you have a desktop computer with 3-position plugs for your microphone or sound, a '3.5mm 4 position to 2 x 3 position 3.5mm M/F' adapter can easily fix this issue for a couple of dollars

I ordered this to replace a GOgroove USB Computer Speaker Mini Sound Bar, which is being returned due to an annoying hissing noise when speaker is on low volume.
EXCEPT - there is a constant, background static noise at all times, whether playing through the speakers themselves or when you plug in a headset
You can't turn the speaker off, there is no off button, you can turn the volume down but the static noise is still there
July 2018: There is a constant, low humming noise coming from the speaker when it is plugged into computer
Now, the speaker like I said sounds great, but if you plan to also use your headphones with this speaker, the most annoying static noise will emit in your headphones, I've tried many different headphones and they all do it
