I expected this to be a softer gig bag that I would have to coddle when packing it into my car etc

To remedy this, I cut a thick piece of foam and attached it to the inside of the lid, and a thick piece of foam to the bottom of the case

I was pleasantly surprised by the solid construction of this bag

It is most definitely a gig bag, not a hard case, however my horn is VERY well protected in this bag

The strap is very comfortable and sturdy

Carrying it on my shoulder is very comfortable: the strap connects to the bag via sturdy clips that allow the case to pivot slightly so that it rests comfortably on my side

Perhaps a wider pocket, designed to carry sheet music or maybe even a large portfolio, could have been placed on the opposite side of the case where there is more room?Yes, I would recommend this case to other potential buyers, but you might consider adding a little foam padding before stowing your expensive horn in it.

This Protec case is nearly as rugged on the outside as the hard case it replaced; and with the modification I made, the interior cushioning is now top-tier
