So far the mechanics of it is holding up along with the electronics of it, has great sound quality and is easy to use, of which I guess is do to its simplicity.
I was surprised of the good sound quality of my old tapes
Recording from FM stations results in very good quality for sound playback.
The sound quality is not as good, but the price is right and the product does the job.
The second one quit working after a few months and the first cassette had poor sound quality in one direction a few months later.

The B deck is not good for playing tapes because it hums.
Other times, it can take and average of 5 to 10 minutes to strategically maneuver the cassette until the deck takes pity on you and finally closes properly

Well, you get what you pay for -- and this relatively inexpensive player is pretty much worthless

Got a second sent to replace it but after looking it over and playing it, it's a cheap plastic unit that looks more impressive in the picture
However, as other reviewers have mentioned, the unit is mechanically not built very well especially the press buttons
After discovering that the tape deck wouldn't "monitor" the recording being made, (no playback through amp and speakers while recording), I returned the unit as defective and purchased a Teac dual tape deck.
My previous unit had finally died after 25+ years (it was a Sony - which had replaced a previous Sony that had also lasted lots of years).
However, don't expect the quality of construction or sound reproduction/recording that you would get from a top line unit costing 2 or three times as much.
