Reviews around display (5.00 of 5)

  • Enter any text you want for the bottom display bar like your call sign :
  • Nice little radio, good volume and easy too read display
  • Mini Car Radio Amateur (Ham) Radio, with Programming Cable & Software (without the "D"); I had wanted a nicer display for easier viewing in my vehicle
  • The display is nice and bright, you can change the colors, but the ones chosen by QYT are good.
  • They are maintained in memory as you would expect, but radio fails to honor stored value and display is always on

Reviews around rig (5.00 of 5)

  • cu.usbserialthis allowed to run chirp under OS X to program the rig...i also fired up my Macbook Air under PIXEL Debian GNU/Linux, plugged in the included cable, ran chirp, copy and pasted my local repeater freqs in and was again done programming the rig in 3 minutes (nice to include NOAA WX and VHF CH09 for listening to the bridge tenders)measured 24W and 11W on high and low power on 147MHz using a dummy load and an analog watt metergood sound, mic input buttons work for entering freqs, including FM broadcast freqsgood sound from the the speakeri have found, to avoid the task of having to go through entering specific info via the menu for ABCD channels, is to leave those channels empty in chirp, start the memory channel list on channel 4, then select memory mode and dial in each desired channel into ABCD...
  • decent rig so far, so good after unpacking and examining the
  • The rig was working great for about a week, then this morning in the mist of a QSO, the radio emits an electrical burnt smell as if something was burning
  • Antenna PL-259, easy to program with the factory software, and just an all around great mobile rig.

Reviews around feature (5.00 of 5)

  • Menu takes some getting used to and computer is needed to get the most of the available features an choices.
  • I would like to get this working to reduce standby power usage as well as to kill the night time glare.
  • It does NOT come from the factory with the correct features turned on/ off to work correctly without changes.

Reviews around chirp support (5.00 of 5)

  • Chirp Support would be great, but as of 1/31/2017 it still isn't supported
  • For those that rely on CHIRP, I'd wait for CHIRP support.
  • Chirp support coming soon.

  • I would like to get this working to reduce standby power usage as well as to kill the night time glare.
  • I would like a smaller antenna that wouldn't hit the overhang on my Banks drive through, but a shorter antenna means degraded performance

Reviews around service (5.00 of 5)

  • With the great customer service i am happy to own one of these compared to 200-300+ other radios.
  • Hi, I recently bought this new radio, it came with a missing part, contacted the seller, they agreed to send a new one, rapid response, good customer service, now on this radio, you need software to program the radio, otherwise will be a pain to program, don't get me wrong, it is a good radio compact and very well built,i I liked the display, once you get used to it no problem operating.
