Radar Mount Mirror Wire Power Cord with Inline Fuse RJ11 - Valentine V1 Radar Detector

    • The pins are really cheap and snap off incredibly easily--in the product image, they appear to be solid pins like you might find on the leads of a multimeter, but this isn't the case
    • Would not power on my detector and the pins seem flimsy like others have stated would break or too loose so you get mediocre contacts causing intermittent issues; if you can get the thing to work.
    • so one has to order the ones with the correct pins for your application
    • It was really easy to install and had no problems with pins breaking like others said
    • The problem is that the pins are too fat to fit into the molex connector, and too short to reach anything metal inside of the connector.
    • The pins can be loose when inserting into the mirror socket but sometimes it is only a matter of picking the one side of the pin slot vs another
    • The pins are very fragile and I did not want to push too hard, since I was afraid they would break, as I read this has happened to other people.
    • Ended up using a couple of Posi-Taps to tap the wiring harness with the least amount of damage possible (two pin-prick holes in the insulation and no damage to the wires themselves), but at that point I should have just sent this overpriced segment of wire back and sacrificed an old phone cord.

    • Result, broken pin.
    • The pins are fragile and broke off when trying to stick them in
