Tech support was readily available and helpful, it was just frustrating it took so long to determine and fix the problem.

What is latest version?This works well enough for very basic function but could offer so much more.

There is little to no interference and we have over 60 smart devices working quite well, including a few outside of the house.

Had a little problem getting it synchronized with my iPhone but with the help from Rainbird's team it's working great.

I should give it 2 stars because of the poor design, but it does function correctly when it functions and there is an easy work around to keep it functioning correctly, even if it is an annoying work around.

The pencil takes you into edit mode (which you find later is also control mode), and the raindrop is manual station control (the only thing that kinda works as it should)

Install is stupid easy... just plug in to port inside the sprinkler box.

This device has major potential and frankly I would have picked another controller if I knew that this device was so shoddy.

I am fairly tech savvy, but no programmer, and this device was really easy to install and set up zones

I have concluded after a month or so that this device was almost ready when it was released.

Cannot recommend either the device or the company as a whole.

I could not get this to connect up to WiFi despite a strong signal.

I do have a strong Wi-FI signal so that could be the reason for no issues.

It was tough to make the app work for the first time, maybe due to weak WiFi signal, but once I could turn it on... voilà!

Still had too weak a signal even though the wireless extender was placed in a window less than 10 feet from the controller

The unit show online both in my network scanning app as well as when logged into my router with max signal strength

Adding the WiFi module to my Rain Bird controller has allowed me to better manage my yard irrigation; delay watering after a storm and monitor usage

Bottomline, this device will avert unnecessary watering based on current and future weather forecasts.

I converted my non wifi RainBird Smart water system to a wifi system by replacing the front panel and adding this little gadget.

If Rainbird wants to keep up with the latest competition, they should think about basic software stuff like testing, scaling, and sharing.

But what makes this a poor purchase for me is the truly terrible software that is not only flaky but dangerous.

Others have complained about this process and it is indeed tiresome due to poor software.

Clunky software interface and very few features available

In the garage, my phone showed a strong connection but the Rain Bird adapter had intermittent problems connecting.

Only likes 2.4 gH connection for setup, then works mixed!

However it is constantly losing connection to the wifi and does not (to my knowledge) reconnect after it has disconnected.

It would reset regularly and lose connection on 5ghz wifi

Also, it does have a tendency to lose the WiFi connection, which is a PITA to deal with

There are communication errors that appear once in a while.

The app can be slow to load and will sometimes results in a communication error, most likely due to the distance from the wireless network.

At times when accessing one of the sub menus I get communication error.

I get communication error, but I simply close out of app and relaunch and it works again

(Communication Error, manual time out error) reinstalled, worked again for about a day, then back to same error message.

Total ease of setup, the app makes scheduling and controls much simpler that the dial with controller.

I could also turn on sprinkler 'on-demand' for specific zone(s), scheduled to delay one day to a few days

The schedule can be a little confusing because everything is on the 1/4-hour only, while zone duration can be programmed to the minute.

I now really enjoy being able to remotely adjust or delay the schedule

It basically works, didn't have the wifi issues (yet) that others have mentioned but the app software has a long way to go to get FULL FUNCTIONALITY of the unit.

I suspect many of the complaints regarding the wifi issues are from people who are not connected to 2.4 ghz wifi.2
