months later it is still attached with a solid grip on the windshield despite being exposed to 100+ degree heat during summer months
However the ball joint lost its grip after a month of use and would no longer hold my phone upright
I never worry that my phone will fall out either due to the secure X grip
The X-shaped grip works well, but the grip holders tend to activate the buttons on the side of the iPhones that it holds, so it can be a bit tedious to mount this thing just right
the "X-Grip" was practically falling apart when it arrived, and it took an enormous amount of force to engage the suction cup
but I think people that have had several phone holders like me, that have been cheaply made, and still have dished some good money out for them, should know about this one
I hate that I wasted so much money on other window mounts
I wish I bought this before I wasted money on God
After using this mount on my motorcycle for years, and after going through 3-4 cheap-o suction cup mounts from various local stores, I finally picked this up for my car and couldn't be happier.
I also purchased the Ram Mount Long Double Socket arm just to have the phone that little bit easier to reach and it was money well spent
Ram's innovative design holds tightly to the phone even in rough conditions.
The suction cup also holds well under both cold and hot conditions
One of the only mounts that holds a phone in place during rough conditions like off-road or in a car that accelerates, decelerates, or changes direction quickly.
n’t feel great when you are driving and it falls to smack you in the knee
I have loved my RAM products and t his was the first time I had to call customer service
I've had to reset the suction cup once during one super hot day here in Southern Cali where leaving it under the sun all day seemed to warp the rubber enough to allow air to escape, but nothing was damaged.

The ball joints are either made of hard rubber or rubberized
The Adhesion will not stay long in heat situation , the rubber will break down
If there could somehow be a thin "L" shaped shelf built into it to replace that annoying rubber thing, this mount would take over the world.
I read off people not liking that the Jaws touches volume buttons, no Problem
while there's some bad reviews of these and those people's phones falling out, I take them with a grain of salt since it does come with an optional stretchy rubber sleeve as a fail-safe - and none of those reviews show them using that
I've been using my smartphone in the car since before it was a common thing to do so; as early as 2000.Back when people would look at me funny and ask me why there was a little computer stuck to the windshield of my car

Bought for my gf's car because I had a twist lock version (the screw kind) and it worked awesome

Really disappointed as the Ram Mount cost 2x as much as the cheap version.
Similar to a few other amazon purchasers, I appeared to have a received a knock-off version
