Reviews around display (4.45 of 5)

  • SCREENThe display itself is very bright and I had no issues viewing even in direct sunlight
  • The default voice sounds a bit static-y, like you have blown-out
  • and it's got a nice big display, this mount that it comes with is really secure
  • Great display, easy to operate and provides all info needed for travel.
  • I do understand that this is what makes the great display possible, but I'd rather have the extra visibility of the roads around me

Reviews around tool (4.40 of 5)

  • It is an amazing tool and the lifetime map updates it awesome
  • My son just started driving cross country and he says that this was a good extra tool for him to find his way all over the country.
  • It is a expensive tool
  • hasnt steared me wrong yet, extremely accurate, better than my tom tom and magellan, if there are anything i dont like about it, is sometimes it doesnt give me the quickest route, but it is a great tool to use in conjuction with an atlas, all the extras on this makes it well worth the money, if your a trucker using a gps this is the one you need, keeps mileage for the different states you cross over with a 98% accuracy rate.

Reviews around thing (3.04 of 5)

  • On a side note depending to much on technology is a bad thing learning how to use a good old fashion Rand McNally map is something that every driver on the road needs to do, having a basic understanding of mapping and road layout should be one of the criteria before licensing people to drive an automobile, sadly it is not.
  • According to this stupid thing, every bridge is low and every route is restricted
  • The only good thing I have to say is sadly this is the best trucker gps
  • the only thing is that it losses signal quit frequently and has gotten him lost or off course a few times!
  • Not even trying to find obscure or new addresses this thing gets lost, directs you into developments even though you set up the height, length, and weights, as well as types of roads to avoid

Reviews around mark (2.54 of 5)

  • It worked just as badly as before
  • This unit has been at the Rand repair facility in Richmond KY, as well as at the Rand office located in Skokie, IL (2X).
  • But they missed the mark on the gps, even my phone does a much better job.
  • wouldn't recommend for a car, only negative marks I'd give are with the up-to-date'ness of some areas of the country

Reviews around route (2.54 of 5)

  • According to this stupid thing, every bridge is low and every route is restricted
  • It routed me numerous times down the wrong routes (a few times down the wrong road
  • Many truck stops have been closed, moved, or rebranded (ie Wilco-Hess -> Pilot, etc), and Walmart parking data is often wrong.- Doesn't route around traffic unless it's within 30 miles of when you first started your route (therefore useless for a truck driver).- Reports several routes as truck weight-restricted, despite not being the case- Map data is over a year old now, is increasingly missing entire highways in Missouri, Ohio, Indiana, Alabama, and Kentucky, to name a few.
  • Had I followed this route, safe to say, I fixin to get a pink slip.
  • You can adjust the route from fastest and shortest route

Reviews around direction (1.54 of 5)

  • I have the 520 and it will take you 15 or more miles in the wrong direction only to show you a loop at the end of the trail
  • For such a highly touted unit the 720 loves to send you in the wrong direction only to request you make a U-turn once you are 10 miles out in the wrong direction.
  • The best feature he enjoys using is the Bread Crumb feature, which allows him to mark off road trails, which is great because he works in the oil fields so there is a lot of off road driving with bad directions from dispatch, this helps cut down on drive time and getting lost
  • It will ignore the correct ramp and instead send you to the next exit only to have you get off, turn around, and re-enter again going in the correct direction it should have sent you originally.

Reviews around speed limit (1.00 of 5)

  • During your route there are warnings you can turn on/off, such as sharp curves & hills, how long you've driven, speed limit alert, state border alert, time zone change, weigh stations, toll booth alert, etc
  • It is not accurate in many aspects, does not know left from right, can't find many addresses, roads missing, and the speed limit is way out of date
  • The alerts are very highly specific to commercial applications that there is probably no way that driving workloads will lead you to miss anything that needs your attention, such as weigh station or border crossing or a change in max speed limit
  • It warns you clearly of upcoming sharp curves, or speed limit reductionsCons
  • Amazing how it picks up a change in speed limit, mile markers, curves and low bridge areas
