I have tried the Evans options and did not love them, started trying Remo and absolutely love the longevity of the heads along with the superior sound quality.

You never go wrong this these Snares, Remo is definitely the best in this business

Every so often I'll buy something different and use it for a month or two, but the Remo Coated Ambassador has the best warmth, volume, and sustain combination of any head out there period.

Some do a fairly good job, but the copies' sound fades quickly, whereas Remo's sound lasts a very long time.

Good coated head, would have preferred FYBRSKYN3, but didn't seem to be available.

even some of the "best" and "highest" and "most expensive" coated heads do this

I cannot say for sure how well the coating would hold up with heavy playing, but can say that since I use coated ambassadors on my snare drum and toms I have a lot of confidence in the coating and construction

While I love the tone, coated Ambassadors' coating doesn't seem to last very long.

The clear skin looks great on the snare despite wanting a white one, my bad, but a great mistake none the less.

These skins are fantastic to use and are made with very high quality standards

This is a perfect drum head for any style of playing, it's perfect for my set and helped my 12 inch tom come alive, amazing skin, with a classic retro sound

Even though when on tour I use other, more durable heads, like Power Stroke 4, these sounded great and gave a good nice open organic tom tone when listening through room mikes.

Great bright tone on my 10x8, pure resonance and great feel tuned up.

The ambassador is still the most widely used and recommended coated snare head out there

Good snare head but not to be used for brush work - I occasionally get a dud that I can't get a good bounce

I would have given 5 stars, but the " clear " Ambassador is actually a bit hazy

but the two ply head chokes out my 10" tom a little too much which is why I love the single ply Ambassador for it.
