If you just want a little bit of dampening it may be best to use some gels, but for my purposes they were perfect, and I love the way my toms sound with them!

While there is no substitute for the fine art of tuning drums (snare drums in particular) these e-rings are pretty legit

My point is: the location your kit is set up in, the materials your kit is made of, the type of heads you have and good tuning all play a role into the sound being produced

How can something so thin, and seemingly fragile knock out the nasty overtones?

These really help even out the sound and get rid of unwanted overtones.

Gotta get some of these for acoustic drums, they will take out all that nasty overtone sound that nobody wants
