When I saw the Reolink PoE system and how reasonable the price was, I couldn't resist

It seems email is the only way to get to their tech support which is in a different time zone

Tech support / Documentation - I initially had some trouble with setting up email motion notification

I emailed tech support for one of the cameras and they repsonded quickly and gave me all the info I

And if you need tech support for a balky computer they are fantastic.

Good response from tech support but the time difference is painful

I setup the motion alerts for emails on this system and the setup was easy.

I experienced difficult setup, poor video quality, constant loss of video and poor quality apps and notifications

All in all... easy setup, quality hardware, great image quality

The setup and installation of the Reolink system was very easy

The Power Over Ethernet cameras make installation easy compared to having to run power and data cables.

Reolink App installed on my phone and client software on my laptop are very easy to use and I can keep and eye on the house while away on vacation or business

I installed this Reolink 8CH PoE system in my father's house, because he was willing to spring for the extra $$ over the cheaper wireless (xMart0) system I had installed in my own house.

Great cameras, easy install, quality suffers when viewing on "fluent" on the app and when on clear video skips 2 seconds at a time

Install was super easy, Quality is as expected for a mid grade DVR

I really wish that Reolink would design a camera that uses a PIR (passive infrared) motion sensor that works

I'm happy to say it appears the option to disable P2P works

I used a PoE injector I had from another project (it was compatible) but you could also get a wall wart adapter for the camera's power cable if necessary (I suggest the PoE injector).In closing, I think this is an excellent camera system at a great price and has been working very well for me for several months now without a hiccup.

First off, the IR cut filter in the cameras works extremely well

To that end, the app doesn't really like anything other than UID access

Everything works as it should, and they have great documentation on the included CD, including a well written user manual, quick start guide, and software for your desktop computer and more

Then add the cheap LAN cables which are lowest quality and the lack of support = massive failure

In summary, too many dead ports, harddrive not accessible, and I paid for an 8channel system but can only use 7 channels due to dead LAN port, have to keep PC on to record

difficultI would definitely recommend to a friend without hesitation as long as they know about the issues above

I upgraded the cooling fan, it did reduced the noise a little but not much

The only issue is the very noisy cooling fan inside the hard drive unit

But after powering up the unit the fan is SO LOUD that I changed my plans and stored the unit in a closet

My install is with my main home theater equipment and the cooling fan for the camera CPU is ever present.

The NVR fan can be heard but it’s not as loud as the Amcrest DVR fan.

Reolink states that the NVR can support up to a 4 TB hard drive, so I replaced the system with a 4 TB Western Digital Purple

There are 10 TB hard drives today, so I'm not sure why there is a 4 TB hard drive

It was annoying to have to collect the SD cards, but they had nowhere near the same amount of false positives

Although you can try to lower the amount of false positives by excluding certain parts of the image for motion detection, it just doesn't work because it doesn't account for

You can set regions where you want to detect motion (to eliminate the motion of trees and shrubs) but there are way too many false positives!!!

For the reason of so many false positives and not recording when there is motion, I decided to record 24/7 instead of recording only on motion

Even with this inconvenience, for the quality of the cameras, large hard drive space, ease of use, and low price point, I would recommend this kit.

Once they had already broken the glass out they were stealing the light bulbs and since their activities continued (yes, they were dumb enough to keep coming back

After providing the video evidence to the police of the two I had on video stealing the light bulbs, these two also confessed to the vandalism to the lights before I had the system for video evidence and rolled on a third party to the damage as well.
