I called Resident Audio after hearing the crackling noise on the second one that I tried.

The strange thing is that it worked both times for about the first 30 minutes of recording, and then all of a sudden this awful crackling noise starts occurring and it gets louder and louder the more you record.

It makes a crackling noise when recording.
