It doesn't make any sense to me, but I had to put one piece of tape on the plastic I was using, and one piece on LED ribbon, then stick double sided tape to double sided tape to get it to stay in place for more than a few hours.

I noticed that had some spots where the LED ribbon would bunch up, I probably just didn't stretch it out properly before taping it down.

Used to attach a LED ribbon light.
