The unit is a nice to have, not a need to have and it really is nice to have.
I highly recommend this unit, and I've been playing professionally over 40 years now.
The first Roadie 2 unit I received worked close to as advertised, but it was immediately apparent that the main button used to operate the device was not working properly
I really like the unit a lot and would recommend it for your gig bag!

I love the ability to add different tuning and have them available within a couple of touches
BUT the ability to create custom tunings and even tempered tunings is superb.
It had more problems with lower notes on mandolin as well as on the 12string.

First off, I was so excited when this product came out, I play guitar, banjo, ukulele, and mandolin, so I figured this product was perfect for
Sometimes it would go the wrong way and insist on tightening a string to the breaking point, other times I would play a note 10 or 12 times before the Roadie would recognize it and attempt to tune the guitar, and now the Roadie internal gears just spin around without turning the tuning pegs until it finally says "wrong string."I wasted a lot of time and money on an unreliable product that lasted a little over the 30 day return period, so I am not happy.
This is a great product still with a few upsetting bugs
Overall the product feels cheap and the motor is a bit weak.
Thank you again SO much for making such a wonderful product and for being so attentive and helpful

If you get this be sure to download the app also, one thing the app did for me was being able to set the tune to top down (high E to low E) vs the default low to high.
The Roadie 2 does a poor job of tuning the Low E, A and D strings, this even after the latest firmware updates.

They do make adapters for odd size tuner heads and small spacing between runners
Header says "Roadie 2 - Standalone Automatic Smart Guitar Tuner for all String Instruments"Well, except BASS!Title clearly mis-leads.
The only thing I don't like is it's a bit awkward to use on the top three tuners of Gibston-style headstocks, but that's a flaw of the guitar, not the tuner
I also checked this against my best Boss tuner, and it's spot on.

I bought this as a Kickstarter project, and wondered whether I had might have squandered my money on a silly gadget in the months while I was waiting for the release
It works like some cool gadget in a science fiction film.
It's a fantastic gadget conceptually, just wish it was more versatile.

This is the best gadget I have purchased in recent time.

It does not have the power to complete the fine tuning adjustments on my guitar with slotted head stock tuners.
Smooth tuning and quick action keeps you on the go, ready for anything that comes your way, mainly cool Rocking and Rolling or what ever your style...this can get you there
For starters, I’ve never had an issue tuning my guitars before
so I am in a LOT of situations where tuning is critical
Obviously it's a bit of a luxury, you can get free iPhone tuning apps (or however you tune) and turn pegs yourself, but this is cool.

If you want alternate tunings, this device is a godsend
A completely versatile device, and a great investment for anyone who wants to spend more time playing than tuning.

I've used it on multiple guitars (and just tried it on a ukulele last night), and it's worked perfectly every time

It can be weird at times (having a hard time finding the note) but after your done the guitar is perfectly tuned and sounds perfect.
So many times in the past I could have benefitted from this amazing tuner

Pros-tunes accurately-tunes quickly-supports many instruments and tunings (be warned some tuning pegs many not for the device)Cons-faulty hardware and programming-not worth 120+ dollars in current state
However there as some programming flaws as well as design flaws that could be improved

Not working right or of the box, says wrong string all the time and tunes way high or way low until I physically pull it away.
Initially they’re was a lock up problem when the Wrong string was plucked for the correct selection and the R2 would error and lock up
when i'm tuning to drop tunings, it'll often tell me "Wrong string" when I am on the correct string, sometimes it will try to completely unwind my string when tuning, sometimes it will make a tuning correction and then go the other way and completely reverse what it just did, sometimes it just can't make up it's mind on if the string is in tune and just continuously sit there making adjustments without ever getting in tune
However, it then did not recognize my A and D strings as being the correct strings and it wouldn’t tune them.
It said it was tuning the wrong string and to make sure I connected the roadie to the correct peg
