First time I connected and tested, the sub was working but not making much juice, so I switched wires to the opposite sides (i.e. black and green wires moved to right side of sub, red and yellow wires to left side)

Not quite the shallowness I needed to replace the blown speaker in my 2002 Chevy Suburban, but after a little grinding of unnecessary metal mounting parts I managed to install and achieve good sound.
It is a high quality speaker and it does fit in the vehicle easily enough (minor modifications) but the sound is not overwhelmingly better than the factory sub.
I have the JBL system, which was sounding horrible with the blown speaker
The finished installation looked factory and gave a great sound boost to the remaining factory speakers, Kicker DX125-2 amp, and Alpine CDE-W235BT receiver/CD player.
I don't have to make adjustments to the equalizer settings or use the boost circuit on the amp for good sound
